Oak Lawn, IL. Are You A FitPro? Fitness is still a privilege. We've still got work to do. The post below was originally made on Disrupt Your Diet. On March 18, 2015. In the weeks leading up to me penning this post, I was requested to be shoved into a Fit1point0 shaped box for the sake of "exposure" on a "new and different" fitness magazine's website. In the months leading up to this post, I'd been getting messages from trainers all over the world telling me that they're doing what I'm doing at. We just c...

I'm perfectly me. Imperfectly me. April 7, 2016. Need it to Survive. 8220;How do you write like you need it to survive? The above lyric is from the song. Delicious Gluten Free Lasagna – Christy Mellott's Blog
https://christymellott.wordpress.com/2015/12/08/delicious-gluten-free-lasagna
Christy Mellott's Blog. Delicious Gluten Free Lasagna. December 8, 2015. December 23, 2015. So, one of my family’s favorite foods is my lasagna. I’m sure it’s quite Americanized, but man is it good – even our Italian-raised friend of the family from New Jersey loved it. 2 lbs sweet Italian sausage (bulk – if you can’t find bulk, just slice open the casing on sausages and take out the inside). One chopped yellow onion. 3-5 cloves of garlic. 1 T fresh oregano (take the leaves off the stalk and chop them up).

On Being Late – Christy Mellott's Blog
https://christymellott.wordpress.com/2015/12/08/on-being-late
Christy Mellott's Blog. December 8, 2015. I just read the best post on Forbes about being late. I used to be guilty of being late all the time. Then I had my daughter who absolutely freaks out if she’s 2 minutes late for anything. She changed my habits and frankly, it made me realize just how rude I used to be. I have been very careful of time for years now and haven’t been late to anything if the circumstances were under my control. Http:/ www.forbes.com/sites/brentbeshore/2015/08/02/5-minutes-e...Fill ...

Competition Anxiety – Christy Mellott's Blog
https://christymellott.wordpress.com/2015/12/07/competition-anxiety
Christy Mellott's Blog. December 7, 2015. December 8, 2015. Having two children who compete can come with some anxiety (sometimes a lot of anxiety) on their parts. And let’s not even mention daddy’s and mommy’s nerves. My daughter tends to get stage fright a lot more before her performances than my son does before his competitions. As a matter of fact, the only time I’ve seen my son nervous was before his first professional fight a couple of weeks ago. I simply don’t have the experience that my kid...

Christy Mellott's Blog. Tomorrow, My Baby Turns 9. December 14, 2015. December 14, 2015. Since pictures are worth 1,000 words, I have “written” you a very long essay of photos below. Preparing to dance her solo in a competition. Taking her own pictures in the greenhouse. Having a blast on Estes Park bumper boats with daddy. Rolling down the hill at the Botanical Gardens. Betrayal – Christy Mellott's Blog
https://christymellott.wordpress.com/2015/12/16/betrayal
Christy Mellott's Blog. December 16, 2015. I have spent far too much time these past few months doing research, writing and talking to attorneys to try to protect my family. I feel betrayed, terrorized and know that it’s entirely unnecessary. So, on top of all of that, I feel frustrated, disgusted by their greed and hurt. It seems as if there is no good resolution at this point. Joy Through the Eyes of a Child. Thank You, Bradley. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Thank You, Bradley.

Joy Through the Eyes of a Child – Christy Mellott's Blog
https://christymellott.wordpress.com/2015/12/15/joy-through-the-eyes-of-a-child
Christy Mellott's Blog. Joy Through the Eyes of a Child. December 15, 2015. I think I enjoyed the Wee Nut’s birthday almost as much as she did. She had an early doctor’s appointment for her yearly checkup, so the two of us went to the Pancake House for breakfast after we dropped Cam off to school. They brought her a surprise jelly crepe and sang her Happy Birthday! Such a happy girl! Then, the doctor got her in so quickly, that she barely missed an hour of school – oh, joyful morning! Finally, she asked ...

2012 Road Trip – Christy Mellott's Blog
https://christymellott.wordpress.com/2015/12/11/2012-road-trip
Christy Mellott's Blog. December 11, 2015. We stopped for lunch at the Cozy Inn in Salina, Kansas. They make one thing and one thing only – sliders with grilled onions. And boy, oh boy, do they make it well. This was a find from the book, “500 Things to Eat Before It’s too Late.”. And I’ve been searching and searching for the rest of my pictures from that first road trip we took, the one we took with Ellen. As I write, I can think of a couple more places to look – an old laptop and an old backup dr...

How Do You Eat an Elephant? – Christy Mellott's Blog

Christy Mellott's Blog. How Do You Eat an Elephant? December 11, 2015. December 11, 2015. One bite at a time…. That’s the old joke, but I’m sure we all have those days and weeks when we are feeling overwhelmed and harried. As a result, we are stressed out and not functioning at our best. So, how do we deal with days like that? What needs to be done today; right now? What can be done later? What things are going to make the most impact? What needs to wait for someone else to do something? Joy Through the ...
