Friday, October 25, 2013. One of the first places we went in Venice was to San Marco square. We had seen it from the ship, but it was even more awe-inspiring and beautiful in person. And CROWDED! We learned our lesson- go early in the morning! It was a short Vaporetto ride from our apartment, maybe 20 minutes. This is the Palazzo Ducale, or the Doge's Palace. We took a tour of the inside, and it's just huge. The tour took hours! It took so many tries to get this picture, people kept stepping into frame!

Sunday, May 11, 2014. Sankt Wendel is a small city about 30 minutes away from where we live. We heard they had a very nice Christmas Market, so we decided to check it out. The Marktplatz had all the traditional stalls with arts and crafts for sale. This is the beautiful church, right in the middle of town. I love these Christmas pyramids! Saturday, September 15, 2012. Matthew had a light week and decided it was time to get away. Woo hoo! It was just a couple of blocks from the pier. It was PERFECT!
