http://designerdishes.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 30 November 2011. Review: Cucina Rustica, Birmingham. Love was in the air and The Boy and I were searching for an impromptu late night meal on a journey up North. Our rendez-vous? I was keen to share a scallop starter involving parsnip mash, which I’d spied other diners e...

Friday, 15 November 2013. UK child poverty survey reveals cold facts about freezing homes. The reality for a growing number of children in poor families in Britain is cold, damp houses and not enough to eat, a new survey by a leading children’s charity reveals, as living standards decline for most people across the country. 8220;This is a damning incitement of how children feel about their chances of their future and the opportunities they will have in life,’ Hersfield told RT. Sunday, 19 May 2013. UK spends £2bn housing homeless in B&Bs, hostels and shelters. Rising private rents, lack of affordable housing, benefit cuts and low levels of home-building force costly short-term solution, investigation finds. Campaigners have said welfare changes will exacerbate the problem. Official figures show that in London alone 7,000 families dependent on benefits stand to lose more than £100 a week under the benefit cap, and many are expected to become homeless as a result. A separate inve...

Monday, 2 December 2013. Further profits drop expected from Tesco. Tesco boss Philip Clarke's turnaround plans will be under fresh scrutiny on Wednesday when the supermarket is expected to reveal a fall in UK sales. Some major investors have already reportedly raised concerns over the chain's management team following a dire set of first half figures. Tesco's interim profits tumbled by almost a quarter to £1.39bn after underlying sales declines in the UK and every one of its overseas markets. Diary of an...
