A Child and a Working Mother. Farideh de Bosset was born in Tehran, Iran, to a prosperous father and a stay-at-home mother. She was their only daughter and the eldest in a family with five other siblings. Growing up, she was a curious child and a tomboy. Farideh’s poetry was inspired by growing up in a family where poetry, spoken in Farsi, was the language of the household, and her parents often communicated by reciting poetry.
