Sunday, July 22, 2012. Too Soon and It Is All Over. It seems like just yesterday when I was putzing around. The house trying to finish packing. In that time my guineas have had keets,. One of my Australorp hens will have had chicks,. And I will have grown so much. Literally and figuratively. Gee thanks Tom, Becky and Ben). We boarded our trusty tour bus at six o'early yesterday morning. Normally this would be sleeping in, but when staying up working. On one's journal for repeated nights in a row . This g...

Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Sand Dune Buggy Bus. GEON is a perfect reason to blog once again and I am going to try to post about each day's events. They are fully packed and we don't finish until 9:00 some nights, so I'm not going to promise anything. As one of my students would tell me, "Suck it up, cupcake and just do it." So I'm just doing it. The Monday before we were to go, Vicki found out that she had a detached retina and had to go IMMEDIATELY for surgery and would be unable to go. He is the coordin...

Thursday, February 16, 2012. As some of you know, I have fallen in love with the sport of geocaching. It's kind of funny if you think about it . as geographically challenged as I am I love it. Really geocaching is nothing more than using million dollar satellite systems to find tupperware in the woods. Two weeks ago I went to Denver to the reading conference. I convinced my room mates to go out with me at 10:30. The first night because a big blizzard was predicted for the next day. So I combined the two ...

Thursday, March 10, 2011. Snap shots of turning one. He loves hanging out with his sister. The new Tonka truck was pretty neat. Figuring out how to drive. The lighting of the birthday candle! Playing with the cars instead of blowing out the candle. Of what a mess I am. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. Did you know it is in our backyard? I enjoy board games, computer simulations, jigsaw puzzles and logic problems. I don't watch a lot of television, but I'm...
Three Sisters: June 2012

Thursday, June 21, 2012. My super over-achiever friend Julie inspired (guilted) me with the cool fairy garden she made with her girls for a contest on the Magic Onion. So I thought I'd give it the ol' slacker mom try and throw something together with my kids in case any fairy folk happened to be passing through the neighborhood. Fortunately, the extensive collection of lavender that was planted is still hanging on. What fairy house would be complete without a nice little outdoor shower? On the bright sid...

Sunday, April 15, 2012. A Moment of Silence. You know those times when it gets really quiet around the house and you suddenly realize that your children are either unconscious or helpfully decorating the side of the garage with that pack of Sharpies you shoved in the back of the junk drawer? I noticed a moment of silence kind of like that today and got a little worried. I went outside to investigate and the absurdity of this scene left me speechless. No snails were harmed in the making of this blog post.

Saturday, April 23, 2011. Exciting times at the farm. They put down new gravel. Just in time for baby birds! But watch out for the mom. Links to this post. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Black Dog and Banjo Soundtrack. Life wasn't crazy enough with a cat,. Before I knew what I was doing, I was coaxing him into the backseat of our car to take him to the vet. Now, we are official dog owners and I am still wondering what in the hell just happened? I am not what you would call a dog person. Return bird to yard.

Monday, September 5, 2011. We Love New York. We took a little trip to the Big Apple. It was totally different than I expected. I thought people would be really mean because my friend told me when her mom went to New York, a bunch of people yelled at her while standing in line at Dunkin' Donuts because she was taking too long to decide. I purposely avoided Dunkin' Donuts for that reason. Here are a few shots we took while walking around:. Trump is like everywhere in New York. Links to this post. I've held...

A little view into our lives on Hastings Lake Road. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Little kids growing up. This summer I have seen the most growth in the kids. They have taken on new challenges and tasks. They had a chore chart each week, well the few weeks we were actually home. Chores included bedroom cleaning, bed making, kitchen duties, bathroom, living room and breezeway cleaning. They also had to collect/empty the trashes and tend to Rusty. The kids are growing up so fast! What do you think? Oh, how tim...
