Saturday, September 27, 2014. C&O Canal Bike Ride - Paw Paw to Little Orleans. The trail is a little bumpy and had puddles in spots. Plus it was absolutely pitch black in the middle of the tunnel and the headlight on my bike didn't reach very far in front of us, so we walked our bikes through the tunnel. Saturday, July 12, 2014. Shenandoah Nat'l Park Hike - Hawksbill Peak. I'm slowly working my way through the hikes in this book, Best Easy Day Hikes Shenandoah National Park, 4th (Best Easy Day Hikes Series). Is the highest point in Shenandoah National Park. Lesson learned the hard way: There are TWO trail heads from the parking area. This was supposed to be a counter-clockwise. Loop that would go up slowly over about two miles, then come down a shorter, steeper route to the parking lot. Links to this post.

Sunday, August 29, 2010. The boys and I took the boat over to Ragged Island on Lake Winnipesaukee to search for a geocache there. We were really glad we went for two reasons. First, we arrived there and found out it is one of the properties owned and managed by the Lakes Region Conservation Trust (LRCT). Boat Docks at south end of Ragged Island. The trail is well-defined hard-pack dirt covered in pine needles. YB on the Ragged Island shoreline. Looks beautiful out there! September 1, 2010 at 12:55 PM.
