Holding Out For That Teenage Feeling: A retreat into the kitchen
http://bmaggard.blogspot.com/2010/11/retreat-into-kitchen.html
Holding Out For That Teenage Feeling. Journals are so last year. Monday, November 15, 2010. A retreat into the kitchen. I make excuses to myself for the writing. I think about how I need to move over to fiction, but I have no characters, nobody alive in my brain except the me me me. I even jotted down some notes on the bus a few days ago. I wrote a little elegy for my grandpa on his birthday in mid-October. I’ve maintained good conversations and I’ve read some great books. Andrea Literature = Love.

Holding Out For That Teenage Feeling. Journals are so last year. Sunday, June 13, 2010. We have the internet now! We've been without since Memorial Day, and here's something I wrote in the meantime that I thought would make a good blog. Title coordinates to the below: I would never forget my internet purchase. 8220;Do you need a bag? 8221; the girl had asked after a particularly flustered transaction. I’d spoken softly and dropped the pen and any other number of insignificant gestures. 8220;Purchased for...

Teeks Weekly: February 2007
http://trishawna.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 24, 2007. Me in my room. A couple results from a recent self portrait project. I have never met another Trishawna in my life. When I meet someone one and they say, “Trishawna…I’ve never met anyone with that name before,” I say, “Me neither.”. Oh, there was that close call one time in Texas at a gas station. I stayed outside to pump gas while my friends went inside. When I entered Melissa said, “Did you see that other Trishawna? So naturally I asked them to be my myspace friends. (H...

Teeks Weekly: March 2007
http://trishawna.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 21, 2007. Little things that make me laugh. Brand name on washing machine in my apartment. Brand name of a bread company specializing in heartier breads. Italian word for strawberry. Does this mean there was a baby floating in this water? Friday, March 16, 2007. If I had to pick one word to describe Switzerland, I'd choose "Clean." From the air to the buildings- -even the bathroom on the Swiss train was cleaner than any bathroom I've encountered in Milan. I appreciate the Swiss ideal for...

Teeks Weekly: July 2007
http://trishawna.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 26, 2007. Read it and weep. I woke up with an acute pain in my heart today…a need to go home…and a crying in my heart for a God I sometimes feel hasn’t followed me here. But it’s not Nebraska. It’s not the heat of summer that peels off make-up before I step past the screen door…. Or the miles and miles of roads that lie between pieces of civilization. It’s not Portland, either, although I’ve dwelt on that city a lot in the past. I miss the unmistakable feeling of being known. I didn't adop...

Teeks Weekly: they are the champions, my friend.
http://trishawna.blogspot.com/2007/08/they-are-champions-my-friend.html
Thursday, August 30, 2007. They are the champions, my friend. To tell you the truth, I had predicted that face the moment she brought up the idea of ice cream. This is horrible." she said. 8220;Alessia, you come from the country with the best ice cream in the world. This is what ice cream tastes like in the rest of the world.”. 8220;Yeah, this is pretty typical.”. 8220;It’s not much to see.". 8220;Well, I’m pretty sure I still want to see it. I've never seen anything like it.”. As I examined the interior...

Teeks Weekly: about time, teeks.
http://trishawna.blogspot.com/2007/09/about-time-teeks.html
Monday, September 3, 2007. About time, teeks. After 9 months in Italy I finally found a church. Wait, that statement is inaccurate. I actually found the church online only days after arriving in Milan,. My initial infamiliarity with the city. A detour to a nearby church I did not like (see posting: Special Music). Project busyness resulting in substituting church with podcast sermons =. The excuses for my 9-month delay. Below: No longer my church. September 4, 2007 at 5:53 PM. September 7, 2007 at 7:39 AM.

Teeks Weekly: February 2008
http://trishawna.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Teeks returns from italy. To all those who have been sitting in suspense since November over my internship decision.I deeply apologize for making you wait. Teeks is back from Italy. The internship was all wrong. I felt it in my bones and my pocketbook. I've been waiting to update this blog with a new name and direction, but it turns out it's taking me a while to find my personal new direction, not just for this blog. There is a lot going on in this head of mine.
