Finding Acceptance – pocket of rambles
https://pocketoframbles.wordpress.com/2015/09/03/finding-acceptance
Ramblings of a 20-something. September 3, 2015. Accepting and loving myself has been a struggle for far too long. I spent a ridiculous amount of time tearing myself to pieces and yearning to be someone else: someone who wasn’t plagued with mental illnesses galore; someone who caught the boys’ attention; someone who had too many friends to count. Anyone but me would would have been perfect. That’s the twisted side to mental illness: you desperately want help, but can’t explicitly ask for it. I’ve sl...

I have just gone 50, live with my partner David and have two beautiful children Emma 22 and James 19. I love mountains, modern art, all kinds of music and watching films. I am slightly obsessive, can be irritable and grumpy but am very kind and sensitive. Day 23 Berwick-on-Tweed to Home 25 May, by train. We have of course now finished the walk but haven’t quite made it home yet. Thanks to the cancellation of train strikes we are thank goodness able to make our way home. 8211; David’s cousin John an...

Day 19 Once Brewed to Bellingham, 21 May 14.5 miles | travelswithbenches
https://travelswithbenches.wordpress.com/2015/05/21/day-19-once-brewed-to-bellingham-21-may-14-5-miles
Day 19 Once Brewed to Bellingham, 21 May 14.5 miles. Hive of breakfast activity at the Twice Brewed Inn with lots of Hadrian Wall enthusiasts and those ‘Walking the Wall’. Last goodbyes to the wall as we headed north soon to be joined by George. A day today of thinking ‘we’re nearly there’ – only three days left to go after today! Our B&B tonight was like walking into the 1930s, chintz curtains and bedspreads, China cups and a biscuit barrel (I think) like my Gran used to have in disguise as a house....

Pennine Way | travelswithbenches
https://travelswithbenches.wordpress.com/pennine-way
WHAT’S THE PENNINE WAY. The Pennine Way is 268 miles walking mainly along the Pennines. It starts in Edale, Derbyshire in the Peak District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across Hadrian’s Wall and finishes on the Cheviot Hills in Kirk Yetholm. For some reason the walk is from south to north which always seems a bit strange to me but apparently it’s something to do with the direction of the wind. SO HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO IT? We have decided to have walking poles and I have had to replace my boots (current...

Day 20 Bellingham to Byrness, 22 May, 15 miles. Sad to leave our B&B in Bellingham, fond farewells to Graham and Helen. They have been operating their B&B for the last 49 years; they keep saying they will stop but then the phone rings and off they go again. For today’s walk it was a walk of two halves; the first of moors, the second of forests. Not many bogs, not many interested happenings and not many views! This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Day 21 Byrness to Windy Gyle 23 May, 15.5 miles. The sun was so hot today and no wind so guess what – I’ve got sun burn! Once up in the Cheviot Hills it was fabulous – clear skies, panoramic views, quiet, remote and very few other people. We did need to exercise caution however as a large part of the land is owned by the Ministry of Defence; fortunately there didn’t appear to be any target practice and we didn’t find anything that looked like we shouldn’t touch! Well the truth is I haven’t done any...

Benches | travelswithbenches
https://travelswithbenches.wordpress.com/benches
There are so many benches, lots of different sorts and all different. I like benches with no one sitting on them although I have a few photographs where I have allowed family members to be part of the experience. On the whole though they stand by themselves. It will be lovely to share my bench pictures, I have a bench gallery and will be featuring a ‘bench a week’ once I can work out how to do it! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
