LI YEXUE -ing: comics = trash?
http://liyexue-ing.blogspot.com/2010/03/comics-trash.html
Sunday, March 7, 2010. I've already loved comic books, even though I did not grow up in the Disney dream. But comic books were the first "art form" I knew. They offered me opportunities of imagination when there was no art environment for me. The first comics I ever read was Do Ra A Mon, and I was 5:. And of course it did not contain any sex, drugs or R&R elements. The second one was Sailor Moon:. And it started to have violence involved. I moved to Detective Conan which has a lot of death:. Thursday, March 11, 2010. Part II: The Cultural Revolution Pictures. The movement lasted for ten years, becoming a pivotal point in history for the development of Chinese culture. The Quotations of Chairman Mao played an important role during this time, considered the best gift for weddings, and everyone had to recite one quotation each time before they spoke. How would they respond to the mass production of nearly all commodities? How would they respond a society of free individualism and identity?

Aimless Wonderings: The Radicant, part the Third.
http://mollypreston.blogspot.com/2010/03/radicant-part-third.html
Monday, March 8, 2010. The Radicant, part the Third. Includes what James Danky was talking about). Youtube is a great way to show your art" ? March 8, 2010 at 9:55 AM. This is a comment to your first video. I believe and fear that as artist use the media like Youtube as a forum to express and share their works with the artistic community it takes away the aura and appreciation of the form that I would have had if I had a first hand interaction with the work. Monday, February 15, 2010. In the next couple of weeks, I will be creating my own film that combines my vision of dreams along with the visions expressed by those whom I have interviewed. The film that I will be making is extra important to me, as I will probably be using it to apply to film school next year. So it's time to buckle down! February 15, 2010 at 4:53 PM. February 21, 2010 at 11:38 PM. I cant wait to see what you come up with for a film. Are you writing a script? Will there be dialouge?

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Mass Market of Art. Nicholas Bourriaud talks in his book. Now I'm pretty sure that this video clip from Monty Python's Flying Circus is totally relevant. A lot of people loved this show, and a lot of people didn't understand it, or they didn't want to. It was something new and shocking at the time, yet it was fairly simple. Beirut. the band! Sunday, February 28, 2010. Beirut. the band! February 28, 2010 at 10:17 PM. That video is great. the song is good too. but i was thinking something while I watched your video.why do artists stick with one thing? Is it a craft thing, like a signature? Or is it because it sold in that form originally? Most artists I know do this.they find their thing and then do it for the rest of their career. Is it so when they die people can say, remember? He did that thing? February 28, 2010 at 10:29 PM. The World And I.

Aimless Wonderings: James Danky and Comix
http://mollypreston.blogspot.com/2010/03/james-danky-and-comix.html
Sunday, March 7, 2010. James Danky and Comix. James Danky recently visited Lawrence University to give a talk on what was advertised as underground comics. He spoke a lot about the "trinity" of sex, drugs, and rock and roll which all inspired the different art movements including comics in the 60s and 70s. And here is a painting displayed in Tate Modern in London that shows where he has taken his art since that statement:. March 7, 2010 at 10:24 PM. March 7, 2010 at 10:29 PM. March 8, 2010 at 1:13 AM.

Sunday, February 21, 2010. Jodi Sedlock and more progress reporting. Speaking of contingency. here's. A link for a book that is all about contingency, and its role in history, specifically World War I. The first time I really thought about the role contingency plays in life was in a Soviet history class last year where my professor stressed how important it was, and that nothing is really inevitable.
