The Caped Crafter!: February 2012
http://capedcrafter.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 28, 2012. On Ravelry, this project is Capuchon. She seems to like it; the main problem is that our "Winter" has been entirely too warm for New Zealand wool. Friday, February 3, 2012. R2d2 Quilt. humble beginnings. The boy has outgrown his current blanket and needs a new comforter. I want(ed) to make him something that- as he grows into the nerd-child he is destined to be (based on his parentage)- he will feel good about for years to come. Yesterday he and I drew a giant bust of r2d2.

http://capedcrafter.blogspot.com/2012/11/gift-for-him-knitting-pattern-surly-man.html
Sunday, November 25, 2012. Gift for Him Knitting Pattern: The Surly Man Cowl. And the search term I used (I thought "man cowl"? Well three or four days later, when I was ready to start knitting the cowl, I couldn't find the pattern. Therefore, I just knit it based on my murky midnight memory. Link to my project page. Here it is on Mr. Surly Man himself. I was lucky to get the shot. Maybe I'll post a better picture when I can get him to hold still longer. Regardless, back to my story:. Find me on Ravelry.

The Caped Crafter!: September 2012
http://capedcrafter.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 22, 2012. I came, I saw, I pieced a kite quilt. I've made many patchwork baby blankets (or- what I call- quilt cheating). I've always wanted to actually quilt (what I think most people call "piecing") but I've never taken a class and didn't really know where to start. Then I saw this quilt. And fell in love. So, I faked it:. I'm not 100% sure that I actually did "piecing" correctly, but- if not- I'm pretty sure I faked the hell out of it. Thursday, September 13, 2012. I love being a m...

The Caped Crafter!: Simple Sewing- knitting pattern holder
http://capedcrafter.blogspot.com/2013/02/simple-sewing-knitting-pattern-holder.html
Thursday, February 14, 2013. Simple Sewing- knitting pattern holder. I've been wanting to make one of these for a while. Well, my daughter is under the weather this afternoon (this time with a stomach bug) so I decided- while she slept, instead of cleaning or folding laundry or checking my work email- that I would sew. The cute fabric in the center is from a friend I met while at Squam last June. The plastic is from a comforter bag I saved (just for this purpose). The dimensions to cut were. There was an...

Thursday, August 30, 2012. Craft Calling Card Bonanza. Coming back from SAW in June 2012 I came to the realization that I need calling cards (non-business business cards, whatever you want to call them). I found this page. And then lost several hours of my life scrolling. Seems like the most practical. Was the most applicable but I didn't want to zoink someone else's idea. For the card material. I sprayed the cereal boxes with spray adhesive and affixed cotton paper to the sticky side. Final product" sho...

The Caped Crafter!: June 2012

Thursday, June 21, 2012. The difference between admiration and appreciation. There is a fundamental difference between admiration and appreciation. Do you ever hear applause in your head after you've made something really, really awesome? And the crowd goes wild. I said the words quietly, just to myself, but it made me smile in much the same way baseball players smile after hitting a home run. There is a knowing in appreciation that isn't there with admiration. Labels: crowd goes wild. The simple first p...
