Musings from Fayettenam: So, It Hasn't Been a Great Week for the Fair
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2014/08/so-it-hasnt-been-great-week-for-fair.html
Friday, August 1, 2014. So, It Hasn't Been a Great Week for the Fair. I was just out of town with my parents and dog. Lamenting the likelihood that I'd miss the fair festivities this year- but from the sounds of things, the fair was a bit rough this year. The trouble started with the abysmal weather we've been having, which meant the fair's fireworks were postponed twice. And other events got canceled. Then a man was injured on an ATV during motocross events. So, a U-Haul overturned nearby Saturday night.

Musings from Fayettenam: More from KissFM
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2011/02/more-from-kissfm.html
Sunday, February 13, 2011. The news stories about a woman who smeared a dirty diaper on a car at the Fayette County fair. And the man who hid drugs in his kid's Elmo backpack. The thing is, I never thought to check KissFM's website for commentary on either story from Mikey and Big Bob until just now, for some reason. And sure enough, here's their take on the dirty diaper story. And the Elmo backpack. At least we're entertaining, right? No Ho Zone sign. And then a naked robber. February 15, 2011 at 6:54 PM.

Musings from Fayettenam: Fine Dining: Potter's
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2012/05/fine-dining-potters.html
Monday, May 14, 2012. Let's be honest: some of the Nam's best food comes from its bars, whether it's Bud Murphy's pizza or Sherwood's fries or potato chips. Potter's is more in the sandwich business. The super cheap sandwich business. Potter's makes for a good, cheap, low-key night out in Uniontown. They're cash only, though, but fortunately, if you're short, there is an ATM. Musings from Fayettenam: Pechins
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2011/01/pechins.html
Sunday, January 16, 2011. The prices are mainly what makes the store's reputation, and are probably why it's always busy. Fayette County has plenty of grocery stores, including at least two Wal-Marts, but no one can beat Pechin's. In fact, because of their prices, Pechin's made the front page of the Wall Street Journal in 1984 (the text of the article is here. And the National Enquirer - three times, for having 19-cent hamburgers, although I can't find the original articles. Luckily, I save the best text...

Musings from Fayettenam: Geibel grad now playing for Pittsburgh Passion
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2015/08/geibel-grad-now-playing-for-pittsburgh.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Geibel grad now playing for Pittsburgh Passion. One of my '07 classmates, Remy Olinzock, is playing for the Pittsburgh Passion,. Which is pretty cool! From a blog post about her:. It's always great to see anyone from the area accomplish something like this, but it's even better when it's a former classmate. Good luck to Remy. And the Pittsburgh Passion! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Washington, PA, United States. View my complete profile. Like what you read? Nam on the Web.

Musings from Fayettenam: Scenes from Ohiopyle
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2015/07/scenes-from-ohiopyle.html
Sunday, July 19, 2015. It's been a busy, rainy summer. But before all that, I managed to make it up to Ohiopyle and snap some nice pictures, I just never thought to post them.until now. First, come critters. A frog hiding in the leaves! If you look close, there's a little #frog amongst these leaves #animals #nature #latergram. A photo posted by Janelle (@littlejanelle) on. Musings from Fayettenam: The Nam on Facebook: Lil Bow Wow
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-nam-on-facebook-lil-bow-wow.html
Wednesday, January 8, 2014. The Nam on Facebook: Lil Bow Wow. Man, it's so bizarre that I, too, was at Geibel in 2004 and never once saw nor heard Lil Bow Wow. So, kids, this is why your teachers/professors don't want you to use Wikipedia as a source. PS: I got your mail asking for money, Geibel. Don't worry. You'll get some. Musings from Fayettenam: On the Confederate Flag
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2015/06/on-confederate-flag.html
Monday, June 1, 2015. On the Confederate Flag. Last Memorial Day, I talked about seeing a pickup truck at Ohiopyle sporting two Confederate flags fluttering through the wind. I'll save my rant on the problems of this and redneck culture some other day, but suffice it to say that the act of displaying the Confederate flag is nothing but disrespectful at best and racist at worst. A Westmoreland County blogger shares this sentiment,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Washington, PA, United States. There w...

Musings from Fayettenam: The Nam on Facebook: Confederate Flags
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-nam-on-facebook-confederate-flags.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. The Nam on Facebook: Confederate Flags. You know what I call that? Personally, I don't notice too many Confederate flags. Around Fayette County anymore, but I'm also not around very much. Although I was in town a couple weeks ago, and shout out to Nguyen's and their sushi lunch special they serve in a damn boat. If you'd like an added bonus from this poster, check out her blog series on first-world problems. Fayette County makes a brief guest appearance in the most recent one.

Musings from Fayettenam: The Nam in the News: Alcoholism
http://fayettepa.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-nam-in-news-alcoholism.html
Wednesday, May 1, 2013. The Nam in the News: Alcoholism. A study of Pennsylvania's heaviest-drinking counties has been released. We're on it. But don't get too discouraged- we're only #31. The winner is actually Elk County, with 26% drinking excessively. The real question is, is the county a mess because of heavy drinking or are we all drinking heavily because the county is a mess?
