Gully News: Heide Art Gallery
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/08/heide-art-gallery-at.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. This week I had a bus trip out with MDLC (I am a volunteer with them) to Heide. An art gallery on the bend of the Yarra. Very pretty setting in large park like gardens. It backs on to a large park that goes down to the river. We had a guide take us through the exhibits - modern art - I can take it or leave it. The paintings here I shall leave. The purpose built part of the art gallery. Judy and I looking at the side of the art gallery. The arch trees in Heidelberg Park.

Gully News: Melbourne Flower and Garden Show
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/03/melbourne-flower-and-garden-show.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. Melbourne Flower and Garden Show. Jenny and I went to the show on Friday. It was a good day to go - not very crowded and the weather was nice. We both got some ideas for our gardens. Jen saw the very green house that she wants so that was good. She will get Michael to check it out and then once her pumpkins are finished she can get that. I saw just the thing for a raised flower bed so that I can grow stuff - hopefully rhubarb and silver beet - without the usual back breaking work.

Gully News: Flinders and Ashcombe Maze
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/05/flinders-and-ashcombe-maze.html
Saturday, May 02, 2015. Flinders and Ashcombe Maze. Judy found out about a teapot exhibition down at Flinders. Which sounded interesting. As it is a fair way down the peninsula we looked for something else to do while there and Ashcombe Maze. Sounded pretty good fun. We arranged to meet Trish at Flinders - for her it was only twenty minutes across the peninsula . One of the Abbott teapots, complete with dumb comments made by him. At the end of Flinders Jetty. Trying to find our way in the hedge maze.

Gully News: Cloudhill
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/04/cloudhill.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. Jenny and I took a trip out to Cloudhill. Which is a garden in the Dandenogs. The day was rather rainy and overcast but we were lucky and it did not actually rain while we walked through the garden. It is a good time of year to go there as the deciduous trees are just turning and the maples were particularly beautiful. The hill is 633 metres high so we were in the clouds and in the distance it was misty. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sneaky Leprechauns and a LONG Family Hike.

Gully News: Busy weekend but no photos
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/05/busy-weekend-but-no-photos.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Busy weekend but no photos. This Saturday I received my mothers day gift from the girls - tickets to the musical Hello Dolly. By the Warragul Theatre Company. It was very good. I always find the small theatre companies put on a good show and the cast appears to be really enjoying performing. From there we all had afternoon tea at The Courthouse. Sunday was busy again as we had planned to watch the Eurovision Song Contest. Show you what I know about it. As usual we were rubbish and ...

Gully News: Miss Fisher Exhibit 2015
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/05/miss-fisher-exhibit-2015.html
Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Miss Fisher Exhibit 2015. Last year Judy and I went along to the exhibition of clothes from the Miss Fisher series. It was on again this year, and we went along again, with Audrey. It is really big this year, with other events, not just the display of clothes at Rippon Lea. We had a great time, even trying on some of the clothes. Scenes from Series 3 were played on the wall. The setting at Rippon Lea is lovely. One room was set up so that visitors could design their own clothes.

Gully News: Melbourne Open Day Weekend
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/07/melbourne-open-dayweekend.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Melbourne Open Day Weekend. Saturday Robin and I went along to Hawthorn Tram Depot. This has 21 restored trams, the oldest being a 'toast-rack' tram dating from 1906. The front entrance of the Australia Club, complete with Corinthian capitals. One of the exhibits that really fascinated me were some early books, hand written. They were beautifully done, with the smallest hand writing I have ever seen. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sneaky Leprechauns and a LONG Family Hike.

Gully News: Heronswood House Dromana
http://gully-news.blogspot.com/2015/07/heronswood-house-dromana.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. I shall sow them in the spring, which surely cannot be too far away. By the time we had walked the whole garden it was lunch time, but neither of us found anything that appealed to us in the small cafe. As we were really near Arthurs Seat, a looking lookout, we headed up there as we figured there had to be something up there other than views. First we stopped at the lookout and could see right across the bay to the city. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Blogger: Login to read.
