DFBC Haiti Trip: Day 2-Danville....the Eagle has landed
http://fbcinhaiti.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-2-danvillethe-eagle-has-landed.html
Danville First Baptist Church Mission Trip. Sunday, October 16, 2011. Day 2-Danville.the Eagle has landed. In Haiti, the local public transportation uses carrier vehicles called tap-taps. These carriers are fashioned out of any sort of vehicle that has a topper and people can hang on to when the inside is full. We luckily have a tap-tap that carries just the team, but sometimes we get someone who hops on the back, holds onto the gate and drops off at the stop of their choosing! Day 8-Work and Play.

Danville First Baptist Church Mission Trip. Saturday, October 22, 2011. We have a picture with our team together.and as always, it was a bittersweet good-bye. We loaded up into the tap-tap loaded down with all of our goodies, and off we went. We are now at the compound winding down and packing for our departure tomorrow. One more Haiti fact: Port Au Prince is approximately 56 sq.miles or 6 miles by 9 miles. Over four million people live in that space. There are no high rises in Port au Prince. We drove a...

DFBC Haiti Trip: Day 6-Out of City and Into the Country
http://fbcinhaiti.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-6-out-of-city-and-into-country.html
Danville First Baptist Church Mission Trip. Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Day 6-Out of City and Into the Country. Today the two teams planned to split up again. We took a 45 minute drive out of the noisy polluted and headed out into the country. The water was a beautiful mix of aqua, teal, and deep blue. There were many cases to be seen and the medical staff did a phenomenal job. There seemed to be no end to the patients. It seemed that every time we looked up the waiting room looked just as full. The doc...

Danville First Baptist Church Mission Trip. Friday, October 21, 2011. Day 8-Work and Play. Today was a very long and tiring day, so I apologize up front for this blog being so short. So today it was back to the work site. There was no medical clinic, so it was nice to be together. We worked at Bercy again pouring the concrete floor. Around two o’clock we left Bercy and headed to the beach! It was about 10 feet to water so clear that you could see the bottom. Needless to say, the water was as frothy as a ...

FBC in Kenya 09
Sunday, August 2, 2009. The last couple of days have been busy ones. On Friday we had some down time. In the morning we went to the giraffe park and had some feeding the giraffes and shopping a little. We spent the afternoon shopping and negotiating in the market (which is far more exhausting to me than VBS and the medical clinic! Friday night we went to the Carnivore, a famous Nairobi restaurant with a circular grill about 15 feet across! Needless to say, we’ve been well fed. Thursday, July 30, 2009.
