In Franklin County, it is estimated that only 40% of the recommended population is being screened. This is far lower then the national average of 76%. Idaho has consistently ranked last out of 50 states for women receiving their recommended mammography screenings. Since 2008, cancer has been the leading cause of death for women in Idaho.
