Polish Stories: Poland: A theocracy for the 21st century
http://polishstories.blogspot.com/2007/06/poland-theocracy-for-21st-century.html
Thoughts and relation of experiences of a semi-expat first living in Poland, then returning to the States. Thursday, June 14, 2007. Poland: A theocracy for the 21st century. I find it fascinating that in an age when so much is being said about Islamist groups vying for control of various countries, and of Islam becoming a factor in government, that nothing is being said about the same thing happening in the Christian Nation of Poland. So then, how will this unfold? The idea that Polish immigrants to the ...

Thoughts and relation of experiences of a semi-expat first living in Poland, then returning to the States. Monday, September 26, 2005. There is so much talk everywhere about the right of people to choose their own government, the need for democracy, and how wonderful it is to be "free". Then comes the true test. Elections. And, more often than not, the truth comes out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Death of the Pope. My Favorite Game Commentary. My Favorite Web Comic. View my complete profile.

Monday, October 03, 2005. I was amazed to find that there are no capitalist parties in Polish government. There are only various flavors of socialist, with the main difference being the extent of moral conservatism they represent. I spoke of Polish conservatism in an earlier post, so will omit those details here.

Thoughts and relation of experiences of a semi-expat first living in Poland, then returning to the States. Tuesday, September 27, 2005. The Death of the Pope. The death of Pope John Paul II was a great loss for the world. This was a man who did a lot of great things in his time as Pope, and was probably the single biggest factor in humanizing the Catholic Church. The death of Pope John Paul II was probably one of the best things that could have happened to Poland. Where does this dominance come from?

Polish Stories: Conservatism
http://polishstories.blogspot.com/2005/09/conservatism.html
Thoughts and relation of experiences of a semi-expat first living in Poland, then returning to the States. Tuesday, September 27, 2005. So, which is more dangerous? This last fact makes me wonder, how long it will be possible to last in a country like this. Besides Warsaw, the rest of the country is stuck in the dark ages of morality. The difference between attitudes today, and those of six hundred years ago is minimal. What was the reason for all this? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

How can he use such media as he did in that speech, and not understand that he will be ridiculed? Labels: PiS polish politics dunce idiot.

So what should I wear today?: H&M in Seattle - first impressions
http://wardrobe-dilemmas.blogspot.com/2008/08/h-in-seattle-first-impressions.html
So what should I wear today? Friday, August 1, 2008. H&M in Seattle - first impressions. I saw it. I shopped in it. And I quite like it. It occupies two floors in the new wing of Westfield mall and has all sections: women's, men's, baby/children's, maternity, accessories and lingerie. Fortunately, accessories and basics are, as always, well equipped and very price competitive:-). I ended up buying a black men's fedora, a scarf and several basic black t-shirts, and paid total of $35.00. a bargain. Fashion...
