Feasting on Pelops

Wednesday, December 10, 2008. A Good Deed Well Done. Blogger of A Homesteading Neophyte. Has reached her goal in donations. She can keep her house! The donation button has been removed, so please ignore my shameless begging below. :) I can't describe the feeling of community I have right now, and I can't imagine. Lama, "A drop is only a drop, but little by little we will fill the bucket." Or something like that. Give me a break, I can't find it online! But you get the gist. ;). Tuesday, December 9, 2008.

Feasting on Pelops: Why I am a Locavore: Part II

http://feastingonpelops.blogspot.com/2008/11/why-i-am-locavore-part-ii.html

Thursday, November 20, 2008. Why I am a Locavore: Part II. As you all remember from my first post in this series, the primary reason why I consider myself a locavore is nutrition. Local foods are simply bred more for their nutrients (and thus taste) than their industrialized counterparts. But there are also many other reasons why I have chosen this lifestyle. I'll try and limit this post to a single issue, with others to follow in the weeks to come. Cattle so desperately need antibiotics today?

Feasting on Pelops: Basil-rific!

http://feastingonpelops.blogspot.com/2008/12/basil-rific.html

Monday, December 1, 2008. On a whim, I decided to plant some basil last week. I had been perusing the produce section of my grocery store when I happened upon living basil from right here in the Midwest! And if anyone has any suggestions, let me know - I'm new to gardening and it's quite possible that this experiment will end in Plant Manslaughter. (Plantslaughter? I should suggest it to my attorney friends.). And the tomato dishes yet to be born in Caitlin D's kitchen all rejoiced! Fern: I've put them i...

http://feastingonpelops.blogspot.com/2008/12/shamelessly-begging.html

Tuesday, December 9, 2008. I am an internet wanderer; Stumble is my bestest friend. Clicking through websites and blogs, I can discover and learn all sorts of nifty stuff. Today, my habit led me to a new blog: A Homesteading Neophyte. And this Homesteader is in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I'm not usually one to give anonymous strangers money over the internet. Too risky, I say! Too likely to be a scam! December 9, 2008 at 5:58 PM. December 9, 2008 at 6:37 PM. I'm glad Phelan put up the tip jar, because ...

Vagabond Crafts: Candlemaking how to

http://vagabondcrafts.blogspot.com/2009/01/candlemaking-how-to.html

Wednesday, January 7, 2009. So I made another batch of candles yesterday, and actually remembered to take pictures during the process. So tutorials for everyone! Candlemaking is really, seriously easy; the most difficult part is breaking up the wax, and you don't even necessarily need to do that (you can buy wax in stores to melt down more easily). The best thing about candle making is that it's so easy to recycle - just keep old candles after the wick has run out, and you can use the wax to make new ones.

Vagabond Crafts: The shoulder bag of wonder.

http://vagabondcrafts.blogspot.com/2008/12/shoulder-bag-of-wonder.html

Tuesday, December 30, 2008. The shoulder bag of wonder. So my most recent project has been a lovely shoulder bag project from tiny happy. I love this particular purse pattern because it only requires fabric and buttons to complete, so you don't have to deal with (or buy) fasteners or zippers. The inside of the bag is a sheet music pattern I really adore. The straps long enough that you could probably carry it like a messenger bag (across the shoulder). Here's the link to the tutorial again.

Vagabond Crafts: January 2009

http://vagabondcrafts.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 26, 2009. What I've been up to lately. So I've gone back to school (and with it, work) just recently and thus haven't been posting nearly often enough. But I have been creating diligently. I made a hobo bag for my mother in law. And a bag for my shop. I'll be working on a purse tutorial soon so keep checking back! Posted by Bree Anna. Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Wax of some sort, either from old candles, or wax bought at a craft store. A coffee can to melt the wax in (metal, of course).

Vagabond Crafts: Meet Ralph.

http://vagabondcrafts.blogspot.com/2008/12/meet-ralph.html

Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Ralph is a sewing machine I recieved from my mother for Christmas. *. He is wonderful, and much less old than the sewing machines I've used in the past (and thus less easy to break, thank Jesus). Unfortunately for Ralph, I've hardly sewn at all since my junior high sewing class, where I spent more time getting detentions from the teacher than I did actually sewing. So we're taking baby steps here. The first thing I did was made a little baggie for a Christmas gift for my aunt:.

BA Crafts is dedicated to all different mediums of crafting - paper crafts, jewelry making, decoration making, and cooking, just to name a few. Come here for project ideas, diy instructions, and crafting community info. Friday, January 2. So I was beginning to feel like BA Crafts was too generic, so I came up with a new name, and with it came a new site (with my own logo, woohoo). So BA Crafts is now Vagabond Crafts.
