fidalix: December 2009
http://fidalix.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 15 December 2009. Decorate a tree in the park. We hung 4 salt dough decorations on a tree in Hampstead Heath. The Cracker Workshop was really good fun, despite overrunning by 2 hours! I seriously underestimated how long things would take. Or rather, how into making them everyone would be. Amazing hats, fake eyebrows and curly moustaches, lovingly typed out mottos and very cool badges we're made. Lots of photos here. You know something is good when even the mess is beautiful. A ervilha cor de rosa.

Friday, August 31, 2007. XYZ is for. The End. So my month with the Encyclopedia of me Meme. Is at an end. When I started, I was worried about taking on quite such a big commitment. Perhaps I should have trusted my instincts, because I have found the second part of the alphabet quite a slog to get through and I can't say I am sorry to have finished. I found that posting almost daily has taken away much of the true joy of blogging. I completely agree with her and I'm going to go back to doing just that.

Saturday, 15 October 2011. He wanted to make a magic potion. He stood over the sink with a bowl of water and green food dye. He started mixing flour to make a vivid green slime. Lots of time playing with slime. Mum, can I cook this? Um, yes, but it's very wet" "I'll add some more flour". What more do I add to make bread" "Just yeast and salt" "Ok can I make bread? Sure" He sorted it out, then left the bowl in the cupboard. We forgot about it for 2 days. Have you cooked to bread mum? A ervilha cor de rosa.

Monday, 28 March 2011. During half term we visited our friend's new coffee roasting business. Coleman Coffee Roasters. Is Jack. Jack was revered coffee maker at Leila's Cafe. Before setting up the roasting business, and now supplies the coffee for her cafe and shop. We like Jack a lot. Some people say he is Jack of the Beanstalk. Jack's workshop is in Brixton so we ate pizzas at Franco Manca. A very perfect day. Friday, 25 March 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Elves and the Shoemaker. The spirit of the...

fidalix: January 2010
http://fidalix.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 8 January 2010. Goodbye to Christmas, to the twelve nights, to the fairy lights. Today we joyfully exhausted ourselves sledging down Kite Hill on Hampstead Heath. We arrived after school, when the sun was a huge golden Orange hanging between the trees. The snow is powdery deep. We stayed til I couldn't feel my hands and the stars were out. I ran up that hill like I was a child again. It didn't occur to me that it was steep or tiring. My back is remembering now though. And I have no photos.

fidalix: September 2010

Monday, 20 September 2010. Inviting a friend round to look at your new nit comb. And both getting excited about it. Monday, 13 September 2010. Our own apple tree. It probably has about 40 fruit, but we're competing against the birds and the squirrels. That we have stopped counting the exact number is proof of abundance. None has ever tasted as good as the first apple. When the tree bore one, lone, giant, snow-white-like red apple. Nity - which is what the project brings to the whole neighbourhood.

fidalix: Apples & beginnings
http://fidalix.blogspot.com/2007/09/apples-beginnings-and-harvests.html
Monday, 17 September 2007. On my son's first birthday we planted a pippin apple tree, given by my mother. The tree was also about a year old, so apple tree and Ruben are the same age, three and a half. That first autumn it gave us one huge red apple. The most crisp, luscious, sweet, full apple. Last year we had four. Now in it's third Autumn we have nine nearly ripe apples. We eat them as they are ready and the first was harvested this weekend. Today was Ruben's first day at nursery. This made me smile!
