How To Find Us. The railroad takes a circuitous route from Folsom to Placerville via Latrobe. Following the contours of the land, the line climbs from 218 feet above sea level at Folsom to 1866 feet above sea level at Placerville. While the distance by road is 20 miles, by rail it is nearer 40! The compensation for rail travelers is the varied and often beautiful scenery en route in south west El Dorado County.
