NINE TONS OF MARBLE. One bit at a time. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. The Show Must Go On. The silver lining in all of this is that I am saving a tremendous amount of money. For this project, my budget is very, very tight and I need to stretch my dollars as far and as wide as I am able. This morning in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette I read about a large-scale sculpture that is being removed to make way for advertising. The airport authority notified artist Peter Calaboyias in a Feb. 3 letter that his sculpture, 78 feet long and 8 feet high, was being removed to clear the way for advertising.
