Feeding My Competitive Soul: May 2010
http://feedmycompetitivesoul.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Feeding My Competitive Soul. An online journal dedicated to balancing life, health, fitness, and good food. Sunday, May 9, 2010. A Race for Hope and my lost mojo. Last weekend I ran in A Race for Hope. Here in Washington, DC to honor a high school friend who is recovering from a brain tumor. It was awesome seeing familiar faces that I hadn’t seen in a while, and it made me miss home. Although I would never be happy living there again, it’s the people I miss the most. She wasn’t kidding! That was last Sun...

Feeding My Competitive Soul. An online journal dedicated to balancing life, health, fitness, and good food. Friday, March 4, 2011. Ok, ok, wipe the drool off your mouth. I know when I found this recipe on Tuesday afternoon that it took everything I had not to dive into the computer and attempt to eat one. Just seeing “Nutella” in a recipe title is enough to keep my attention, so I won’t waste any time. Nutella Cookies, taken from here. 1 cup AP flour. Preheat oven to 350F. New England Clam Chowder. Heath...

Feeding My Competitive Soul. An online journal dedicated to balancing life, health, fitness, and good food. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Is less really more? I had my GPS all set and ready to take me to the Tidal Basin to meet my Team Challenge group. We had an hour and a half run scheduled, and since I haven’t actually run with them yet, and the Cherry Blossom is over, it would be the perfect weekend to finally meet the whole team. Can this possibly be right? Did I really just run 6 miles in 52:58? Did takin...

Feeding My Competitive Soul. An online journal dedicated to balancing life, health, fitness, and good food. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Work from home bean and barley chili. I always have beans and cans of crushed tomatoes in my cupboards. And 9 times out of 10 we will have onions and garlic as well. What we didn’t have were peppers. Hmmm Chili with no peppers? Yeah, it’s doable. Peppers give me heartburn anyway, so why not? Turns out, this chili is awesome without the peppers, and no heartburn! Sambal ...

Feeding My Competitive Soul. An online journal dedicated to balancing life, health, fitness, and good food. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Reason #18,458 why I love my slow cooker: Better than yo’ momma’s slow cooked banana oats. When I was a kid, my mom used to make the most amazing oatmeal. No one liked eating it but me. I remember all the kids whining . “Oatmeal? 8221; But not me. Me: “Mom, there’s no way you just followed the recipe. Did you use milk? Me: “Ok so what else did you do? Mom: “OH Oh...

Running-girl's Reflections: PERSPECTIVE
http://runninggirlsblog.blogspot.com/2012/06/perspective.html
Saturday, June 2, 2012. Photo courtesy of: http:/ tenlap.com/show-the-way/. A friend of mine invited me to stay overnight at her house on a recent trip to Seattle. The next morning, we decided to go for a run. She opened her window curtain to greet the morning. 8221; she said, bright-eyed and cheery. As I sipped my hot tea, I visualized a tantalizing run through the quaint neighborhood of Queen Anne, known for its stunning architectural homes, sweeping views, and charming shops. Then I lace my shoes and ...

Heather Eats Almond Butter. Before & After Photos. Before and After Photos. August 25, 2010. Some of the weird things I did over the past 24 hours:. I think I’ll stick to my favorite pureed squash recipe. In the future or use a baked sweet potato instead. Dinner was CD’s Almond Butter Chili. His best batch yet! I guess it ...

Running-girl's Reflections: THE AGONY OF “THE FEET”
http://runninggirlsblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/agony-of-feet.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2009. THE AGONY OF “THE FEET”. Bone spurs, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, ankle sprains, IT band syndrome. These are common injuries suffered by runners. I’ve been fortunate to not experience a single running injury in all my years of running…until now. People go through injuries all the time, but you can never really understand the magnitude of the pain until it affects you. The pain that I am referring to is not just physical, it is emotional. 8220;What am I going to do?

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Crossing the Finish Line. Dedicated to my Team In Training teammates of the Silicon Valley/Monterey Bay Chapter, North/Mid-Peninsula team. Most people training for their first marathon are overwhelmed by the 26.2 miles they would have to run. 8220;I just want to finish,” they’d say. But crossing the finish line is more than “just finishing.”. I remember my first marathon: (The 2006 Honolulu Marathon). The deafening cheers brought a smile to my face. You become a marathoner. feedmycomplex – A travel and food blog. Exciting. Weird. Silly. Joyful.
A travel and food blog. Exciting. Weird. Silly. Joyful. Two years ago I had a baby. Or really just a hope of a baby. An idea of an infant in my sun-kissed August arms, an image of a crib drenched in afternoon sunlight, the turgidity of my massive belly like a ripe plum. This is the baby I lost. The baby who up until my first ultrasound was as real to me as my own arm or leg. And in quiet moments, stopped to think of them and missed them utterly. Non, je ne regrette rien. December 13, 2017. June 4, 2017.

Have you fed your constraint today? | Just a machine trying to get a nut
Have you fed your constraint today? Just a machine trying to get a nut. As I get older, I spend less time typing than I used to. It has increased over time, but I used to dive right in and code a solution. This struck me today as I struggled with solving a problem that seemed simple enough. Here’s the setup:. In a nutshell, I’ve got a continuous stream of data that I want to capture completely. I can replay holes in the timeline by specifying a start and end timestamp. April 2, 2013.
