feig: Pondering the Word
http://feig-community.blogspot.com/2015/07/pondering-word.html
Friday, 17 July 2015. This week we met at our place. We shared a meal and caught up with each other and then had time to sit in the quiet and go through a breathing prayer together. This week the conversation led us to thinking about evangelism. Being part of generation x and the millennials, we mostly feel uncomfortable with the term. We also felt that this weeks Lyfe session. I was reminded of a Nadia Bolz-Weber. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Thursday, 1 May 2014. The Easter break brought another farewell for feig as our vicar, Steve, and his family moved to London where Steve will take up his new position. We are thankful for the work they have done here and for their company. And we look forward to hearing about their new adventures! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wednesday, 18 February 2015. A Blessing for Ash Wednesday. You felt like dust,. As if all you had to do. Was turn your face. To the four corners. By the smallest breath. Did you not know. What the Holy One. Can do with dust? This is the day. This is the hour. By what has made it. This is the moment. We ask for the blessing. The ancient ashes,. That makes its home. Inside the soil of. So let us be marked. And let us be marked. Let us be marked. Not for false humility. What God can do. Within the dust,.

Wednesday, 23 July 2014. Good theology is like good comedy. One time Feiger, Simon Cozens shared this recently:. Good theology is like good comedy - punch up, reach down; never punch down. The prophets did it. Jesus did it. Jesus' entire ministry can pretty well be summed up as alway. S punching up and always reaching down.". You can read some more quotes here. Links to this post. Saturday, 21 June 2014. Beware the near enemy. I read an article. By Oliver Burkeman recently on the Buddhist concept of Brahmavihara. The far enemies are easy to spot but beware the near enemies. When does our love become selfish? When does our compassion turn to pity? When does our inner peace and contentment turn into indifference? Top image found here. Links to this post. Thursday, 18 December 2014. Sophie 's last night, a small but beautiful gathering. Louise pointed out that each meeting is so different, reflecting those who take part and what they bring. Sophie was inspired by a Cathedral Advent service, so we looked at some words from Isaiah and spoke this liturgy together. This was our last gathering for this year but you can still catch us at our upcoming Brunch and Bounce event at the Cathedral on Saturday (20th). We'll share some ideas for the new year soon.

Monday, 29 June 2015. Joining the longest queue in the supermarket might seem a bit odd. Actually, it's a lot harder than it sounds when you haven't accounted for a well meaning shop assistant whose job is to help you through the checkouts as quickly as possible! As I stood there, relieved that the assistant had got distracted and hadn't got as far as me, someone in front suddenly sped off down the aisle as they spotted a shorter queue and the route to a faster checkout. We thought about the importance o...
