Felicity's Development work placement in MALI: March 2012

http://www.felicityinmali.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Felicity's Development work placement in MALI. Monday, 19 March 2012. Ive been going for about 6 weeks now and in that time, two new borns have arrived who are very scrawny and tiny! Most of them are abandoned either due to the family unable to afford it or the mother dies during childbirth. Another story is a mistaken pregnancy for whatever reason. This along with my radio programme confirms that I am definitely more famous in Mali than in England! Not long till im back now L. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Felicity's Development work placement in MALI. Monday, 13 February 2012. Each one of us has managed to have had a mini disaster now! Jemma has fallen into an open sewer in the dark. She has also acquired a very strange Togolese stalker who often turns up at our house un-invited! Poor Rachel has visited the hospital on 7 occasions now due to various illnesses. It seems the private clinic loves to invite her back for check-ups especially as they make a killing from our insurance on every visit! This also s...

Felicity's Development work placement in MALI. Friday, 16 December 2011. Are doing. So. Other things I have set up this blog and would love for you or anyone to follow from time to time! It may be difficult to access internet on a regular basis in Mali - I can be certain that it will be dial up! Remember the noise it used to make! BUT I will try to update as much as possible with photos and videos. My team is also in the process of making a Facebook page for the project we will be working on in Mali.

Felicity's Development work placement in MALI: Marriages and Markets!

http://www.felicityinmali.blogspot.com/2012/01/marriages-and-markets.html

Felicity's Development work placement in MALI. Sunday, 29 January 2012. Last weekend we went to Bamakos largest market ‘Le grand marche’ via a Sutrama! It contained all sorts of smaller markets, from fruit and veg, to meat, f. Abric, fetish and artisan sections. There was a sea of people everywhere you looked and to move through you had to just go with the general flow of people. Occasionally a person would try their luck and barge through with a wheelbarrow of produce or a goat! This jog is not the aver...

Felicity's Development work placement in MALI. Wednesday, 22 February 2012. Bou bous are taking me by storm. Woman and men stroll around in such colourful and beautiful hand made outfits known as boubous! For woman, they usually consist of a skirt and matching top made from the same material that hug their figures. However, the material is fairly think and with them being tightly fitted – I don’t know how they stand the heat, but everyone does! When we found this out, we became determined to get a ride b...

Little Things – Inspirations to rethink

Who Are You Fooling? March 14, 2016. March 14, 2016. Today I found myself being grumpy over some tasks that I didn’t want to do. I didn’t complain out loud, but in my heart, I knew that I was ungrateful and complaining to the full extent. When such emotions strike us, it is often very hard to turn yourself around-often times we know. Now I realize truly how important it is to examine my thoughts before I actually think on it, before I take it as a fact. Hit home, didn’t it? Because your actions flow out ...
