The World Is Our Classroom: Mirrors & Windows
http://worldourclassroom.blogspot.com/2015/03/mirrors-windows.html
One gringo family. living, loving and serving God in a remote corner of Honduras. The 7 of Us. In our house, we have two mirrors and quite a few open windows. Our windows are wood slats that never fully close. Oddly enough, when I am in Honduras, I rarely look in the mirror and spend a lot of time looking out of the windows. I miss writing so much. So much in my head rattles around and bounces off only me. this cannot be healthy (haha). I pray for minutes to write and process. March 15, 2015 at 12:50 PM.

The World Is Our Classroom: Grief Seeps Out and Love Saves the Day
http://worldourclassroom.blogspot.com/2013/09/grief-seeps-out-and-love-saves-day.html
One gringo family. living, loving and serving God in a remote corner of Honduras. The 7 of Us. Grief Seeps Out and Love Saves the Day. Grief it is a slippery thing that comes creeping up in unsuspecting moments. A friend died last week. Her death reminded me of another friend that died earlier this year. Grief that silently hid itself from me for the last 5 months all of the sudden came rushing forth like a mighty wave. And I remembered. There on a knoll outside the window was a young woman wearing a bri...

One gringo family. living, loving and serving God in a remote corner of Honduras. The 7 of Us. When Easter Seems Far, Far Away. Religious holidays always creep up on me somehow. Day after day passes. Suddenly, it is Palm Sunday. I am taken back in my mind to palm branches, Hosannas and air-conditioned churches. The past 5 Easters in Honduras, I have felt disconnected from Easter. I don't mean the eggs, or peeps, or chocolate. I've felt disconnected from the cross, the waiting, the risen Christ. Our frien...

One gringo family. living, loving and serving God in a remote corner of Honduras. The 7 of Us. A Hungry Child Has No Ears to Hear. Orphan Care - Part I. The statement "a hungry man has no ears" is often attributed to an unnamed missionary in Africa, but also is close in meaning to a worldwide proverb "a hungry belly has no ears." Either way, the principle remains the same. A hungry person cannot hear. I'll stop the story here to simply ask the question, what would you do in this situation? Do you have th...
