Felix in a Hat: January 2013
http://felixinahat.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Felix in a Hat. Friday, 18 January 2013. Walkable Neighbourhoods, interesting article by Fernando Pages Ruiz. Thee New American Dream: Walkable Urban Neighbourhoods. Be the first to comment. In short, suburban dormitory neighborhoods have become less desirable and downtown neighborhoods are the new American dream. Sure, the notion of walkable communities has become a political issue pitting rural conservatives against urban progressives. But by and large, the argument has been won through the economi...

Felix in a Hat: November 2011
http://felixinahat.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Felix in a Hat. Tuesday, 22 November 2011. A Stirling Moss Job. Art and Context Trip. Well thought is was about time i put up something about the now legendary trip. What is the point? Well for me it was a chance to really think about 'space' and how i use it as a designer and whether or not i really understand the consequences of an intervention, and experiment if you like. what happens if. So with my simple tools, I attacked! Next day, rain, but up on site soon after dawn. A flask of hot water (for...

Felix in a Hat: April 2012
http://felixinahat.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Felix in a Hat. Monday, 30 April 2012. Links to this post. Saturday, 28 April 2012. That is the Question. So a complete re-think on the design in general, got a bit lost in the detail. No change there then. So after the crit (some really good work from the rest of the group! A comment was made may be i should do more hand drawn stuff. So started a couple of sketches out of (my head), showed Robert, who reminded me that employers like computer stuff.so back to rendering in P/S. Looking down on the dock.

Felix in a Hat: Absolute must reads for park and urban design!
http://felixinahat.blogspot.com/2015/02/absolute-must-reads-for-park-and-urban.html
Felix in a Hat. Sunday, 1 February 2015. Absolute must reads for park and urban design! The Social life of small Urban Places. The film quality of the movie at the start is rather poor, but stick with it as its about the content. Made in 1980 so some amusement can be gained from the conservative fashion, but the main point is the simplicity of how humans react in public space and what makes a space successful or not. Some Books Absolute Musts! The Social life of small Urban Places. Author William H Whyte.

Felix in a Hat: June 2012
http://felixinahat.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Felix in a Hat. Wednesday, 6 June 2012. So the brochure we all have to put some text and images in a limited space. Therefore trying to create an eye catching effect, plus some kind of narrative. The err.shot as Robert would say. Had this image for a while, love Banksy. Overall pleased, more work on the grass and the image was cropped for the brochure as more of a letterbox view which works better. Update, letterbox view, grass. Three images each with a different message and mood. A normal British day.

Felix in a Hat: December 2011
http://felixinahat.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Felix in a Hat. Friday, 30 December 2011. Well its the 30th of December and I can't stop thinking about the Art and Context module, work submitted etc so in theory I could just stop and carry on some kind of formulaic way or process. Unfortunately too many questions have arisen and lines of thought unresolved. So I can't and won't put it down until I am bit further down the road. Pandoras box has been opened. Personal Conclusions or others? 3) Framework for others to evolve as they see fit. I cannot ...

Felix in a Hat. Sunday, 23 September 2012. Overzicht over Stadshavens Rotterdam. In de Rotterdamse Stadshavens. Links to this post. Saturday, 22 September 2012. A lot of potential, especially when its far better to not even introduce heat in the house apart from the occupants and appliances. Also heat exchanger to bring in fresh air to overcome the stale air syndrome. On more recent projects window opening is allowed! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
