Keep on running in the forest. 土曜日, 8月 20, 2011. 少なくとも10分ほど（３番くらいまで）森を走ると、ミスをした時のメンタルも体験もできます。 金曜日, 8月 19, 2011. 12300;走りたいけどやっぱり走りたくない」と思った。 長いだけなら、91年のチェコ、03年のスイス、04年のスウェーデン、あるいは06～08年と続いた大陸系のロングも長かった。でも時間をかければまわれるコースである。 しかし、見ただけでうなるような地図、コースというのはWOCでもそうそうない。 あるいは、実際僕も走った93年のUSAのロングもしかり。当時早苗さんが、「地図を見た瞬間なぜか太古の恐竜時代が頭に浮かんだ」と表現していたけど、ある意味地球の歴史に畏怖の念を感じる見応えのある地形である。 実際男女とも優勝者と2位で4分、6位では10分以上の差がついた。実力の肉薄する世界では普段考えられない差である。 月曜日, 8月 15, 2011. 今年はフランスのSAVOIE GRAND REVARDで開催中。 やはり３走アンカーは、...

Keep on running in the forest. 土曜日, 4月 16, 2011. 今年の桜は、まるで震災で心痛める人々の前で遠慮していたかのように、随分ゆっくりと満開を迎えた。 それでもやっぱり桜が咲くと気分が少し明るくなる。そして気がつくと計画停電もなくなり、プロ野球も開幕した。 もちろん原発の状態は依然として予断を許さないし、いまだ行方不明のままの方が1万人以上いる。被災地の復興はまだスタートラインにたったばかりであるけれど、関東の生活はほとんど正常に戻っている。 震災後、我らがオリエンテーリングのWOCやJWOC強化、選考の日程は一旦白紙となり、全日本も中止された。 日に日に変わる世間状況を見ながら、メールが飛び交い、どうするか毎日悩んだ。 ようやく、ここ1、２週間で全日本の5月開催も決定され、選考会の開催目途もついて、もともとの強化路線に戻ることで落ち着いてきた。気が付いてみればちょうど１月分遅れてのスタートとなったわけである。 Orienteering News in Japan. UTMF2014 完走記 その2 -スタートからA8まで‐. とにかく前半あせらないこと、筋肉を使いすぎないことを頭においてたため、スタートゲートから遠い控えめな位置に並んでスタートした。ところがこれが失敗だった。スタート直後にレーンが極端に細く曲がっていたため、列が全然進まない。スタートゲート通過に 2. 分くらい続く。ようやく歩けるようになって、小走りできるよになるには 10. 分以上かかったか。自分のペースで走れるようになったのは、林道が坂を登り始めてから。推定１０～１５分のロス。さすがに前半抑えた超ロングレースといっても 10. その後の初めの登りでどんどん抜いていくが、それでも慎重なペースだったと思う。心拍 150. 前後で走ったり歩いたり。周りは富士山の写真をとったりマイペースな人々。登りが終わり、霜山手前のワインディングするロードが終わる直前で妻を発見。 到着 18.2km 2. 到着 33.4km 4. に向かって下り始め、徐々に斜面が急になる...

O-newsやorienteering.com、その他の場所で情報をとる回数もめっきり減ってしまった。 最近すっかりオリエンテーリングが趣味ではなく仕事、いや正確にいうなら「仕事以内の仕事」になってしまった。 移動や、通勤の途中、あちこちのコーヒー屋のフレッツスポットにお世話になって、ちょこちょこと、SOHOならぬMOSO（mobile office short office)である。 ちなみに、ソフトバンクのmobilepointを使っていた時は、マクドナルドのコーヒーにずいぶんとお世話になったけど、フレッツスポットに変えてからは、スタバやモスなど、少しこじゃれた店が多くなって、コーヒーの単価があがった。でも遅めの夜の時間にあまりお行儀のよくない中高生に交じってパソコンと叩くよりも、スタバあたりの落ち着いた雰囲気の方が仕事もはかどる。 水曜日, 1月 12, 2011. 日曜日, 1月 09, 2011. 少し半信半疑で、スタート前のアップをし、...

Keep on running in the forest. 月曜日, 2月 07, 2011. 先週末最大のニュースは、インカレロング（再競技）の 結果. ご存じの方が多いと思うが、秋に開催されたインカレロング競技の選手権クラスが競技不成立になったのを受け、再競技を行ったものである。 9312; 男女ともOLK（同じチームの大学）が優勝. 9313; 男子の入賞6名中、5人が東大. 9314; 男子上位3名は僅差の好記録。中でも2位の結城は2年生で2位の快挙. 9312;は昨年に続いてなので、それ程驚かないが、僕の記憶の限り②は前代未聞、③も山口大助が2年生の時から実に15年ぶりだと思う。 試験、卒論と学生にとって忙しい時期の開催、コントロールできていないテレインでの開催など、いろいろな要素があるにしろ、今のOLKの総合力を示しているだろう。母校の手前みそになるが客観的に見た事実である。 いや少し穿った見方をすれば、上位寡占はむしろ全体の競技レベルの低下を示唆している、との見方ができなくもない。 Orienteering News in Japan.

A5 オグナほたかスキー場 12:33:39 75km 総合24位. デポジットのエイド。ここまでは13時間はかかると思っていたので、想定よりは良いペースだ。このままのペースだと22時間の目標は達成できるかもしれない。 今回も用意していたToDoListメモに従って、アミノバイタルを飲み、後半用の食料と眠眠打破をカバンに入れる。寒さは感じておらず、着替えはしないことにした。座ると落ち着いてしまい走る気が失せそうなので立ったまま作業。 自分の直ぐ後に、武尊山以降何度か抜きつ抜かれつしている長身の若い選手が到着した。ちょっとさわやかな彼は鈴木祐児さんというお名前の選手。二三会話をして後半のお互いの健闘を祈った。僕の方が先にエイドを出た。 A6 赤倉林道分岐 13:59:49 84km 総合20位. もう一つのライトはA6の後に抜いた選手だった。こちらの選手には一度追いつかれたが、ペース...300mほどの標高差の...
