Felted House: Beaded mohair cowl
http://feltedhouse.blogspot.com/2011/12/beaded-mohair-cowl.html
Life with felt, family and cats. Sunday, 18 December 2011. I am just taking a few minutes out of busy Christmas wrapping to show you this. It's the only thing I have knitted this year and I'm proud of the fact that I actually managed to finish it, as I do have to confess to having several knitting projects on the go all still with needles in that may possibly not see the light of day again. I've never knitted anything with beads before but in this pattern you follow a chart and use a crochet hook to hook...
Felted House: October 2010
http://feltedhouse.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Life with felt, family and cats. Friday, 22 October 2010. We had a really nice walk around and visited the cafe twice to warm up. Beautiful autumn colours were all around us as well as lots of artwork to look at. This one is a mirrored twirling set of triangles - the reflections are fascinating:. The boys hiding from the camera:. And I love this one of them walking ahead together, talking to each other all the time:. So I've got to go all the way back on the bus early tomorrow and buy the whole lot again!
Felted House: May 2011

Life with felt, family and cats. Thursday, 19 May 2011. Flowers and a cat update. May I heartily recommend these flowers as something to grow in your garden if you have room. They are sweet rocket (Hesperis matronalis),. Self-sown from a couple of plants I bought from the market about 5 years ago for 75p each - they've been spreading around gradually and this year I had a bed half-full of them, all for free! I've never had enough to properly fill my grandmother's rose bowl before and it was really nice t...
Felted House: November 2011
http://feltedhouse.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Life with felt, family and cats. Saturday, 26 November 2011. Leo and Monty are watching the birds and the last of the autumn leaves fluttering in the garden. They have settled down into their own routine now and found their favourite places in the house to watch for wildlife, chase each other, sit and sleep. Leo is here helping me make cupcakes for a friends wedding. To this - taken in the summer, which I'm really pleased with. Felting has sadly had to stop and I've only done one craft fair this year and...
Felted House: Happy Christmas
http://feltedhouse.blogspot.com/2011/12/happy-christmas.html
Life with felt, family and cats. Thursday, 22 December 2011. As the last few days before Christmas will, I'm sure, disappear in a haze of tidying, cleaning and possibly drinking ginger wine, I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Thanks so much to those of you who have supported me in what has been a grim year, and I hope to catch up with you early in 2012. And finally, it had to happen. 22 December 2011 at 11:46. But thats so funny! Awww Leo and Monty are so innocent! Is that a punch bowl?

THIMBLE FINGERS: November 2014
http://thimble-fingers.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Saturday, November 15, 2014. I had a brilliant time at this months Art A'peel meeting, it was one of the most enjoyable days I've had in a long time. We spent a day with Textile Artist Elizabeth Morley at her studio on her property at Coolup, just south of Pinjarra. She and her husband only moved to the new property a year ago and they've worked hard and created a wonderful place to visit. The gardens were beautiful and gave us lots of inspiration for drawing and design.
THIMBLE FINGERS: September 2013

Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Sunday, September 8, 2013. One of my favourite embroidery designers is Tanja Berlin. A graduate of the RSN, who has been a professional embroiderer for the past 10 years. She's based in Canada, but came to Australia to teach at the Beating Around The Bush convention in 2009. As soon as I read that Tanja was coming to Oz, I just had to book my place at the convention, and all three of the classes I undertook were with Tanja. Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Where have I been? No, I...
THIMBLE FINGERS: January 2015
http://thimble-fingers.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Thursday, January 15, 2015. Here's to a happy 2015. 2014 wasn't the best year for me and my blog was sadly neglected . but I've turned a corner, closed a door and I'm looking forward to what's ahead. To say goodbye to 2014 hubby and I took ourselves off to the other side of Australia and celebrated 5 days in Sydney. Despite being in Australia for 47 years I've never spent any time in Sydney and now I know what I've missed out on. What an amazing city! Even during a holiday my...

THIMBLE FINGERS: April 2015

Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Sunday, April 12, 2015. ATASDA - March Meeting. Despite playing around quite a lot with dyes during my City and Guilds studies I never got around to trying the sun dyeing which I'm quite sad about because the possibilities are endless. As long as they were watered down to about a 50/50 ratio they worked fine and didn't leave the fabric too stiff afterwards. I haven't as yet seen what everyone has done with the fabrics they made, but I was so enthused by it all that I decided ...

Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Friday, October 24, 2014. I would imagine there's not many people out there who wouldn't be aware of the Centenary of the First World War, and Australia's involvement is known as the Anzac Centenary. Part of this Centenary is the 5000 Poppies Appeal. In order to do this they invite all crafters across Australia to participate in this wonderful project, by donating handmade poppies to the appeal. Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Art a'Peel Open Day 2015. A big thank you to everyone who came to Art a'Peel's Open Day on Sunday, what an amazing day we all had. It was wonderful to see so many people who share the same interests and creativity as our group, and its amazing how much you learn and acquire inspiration from days like these. We had many comments on the high quality of work on display, which is what Art a'Peel is all about. Displayed some of her incredible wearable art,.
THIMBLE FINGERS: April ATASDA - Sun Dyeing
http://thimble-fingers.blogspot.com/2015/07/april-atasda-sun-dyeing.html
Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. April ATASDA - Sun Dyeing. Time has slipped away from me and I'm going to try and catch up with news on what's been going on with our ATASDA and Art A'peel groups as well as my own stuff. In April our ATASDA WA group made the most of our sunny weather and had a day experimenting with sun dyeing. Its amazing how fast it works! Anything can be used - twigs, leaves, buttons, stencils - anything works. I think this is my favourite, its created using a plast...
THIMBLE FINGERS: December 2014
http://thimble-fingers.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Monday, December 22, 2014. Vineyard 28 Quilt Exhibition. Last week hubby and I drove to Bunbury to do some Christmas shopping. As we got to Harvey I spotted this sign at the side of the road . You can imagine my screeching voice in hubby's ear, and the white knuckle grip on his arm "STTTOPPPPP". He had no option but to turn left and take me to Vineyard 2. 8 and see the exhibition. The detail in the quilt was beautiful with the sequins and beads all glistening in the surf.
