This is Jennifer Elizabeth. 8216;Excuse me Miss’ skirt. October 10, 2010. Lately it’s been all about stitchery for me. I’ve put down pencil, paper, camera and flame thrower for a flirtation with the sewing machine. Today, I finally finshed a skirt I abandoned last year (possibly the year before? I put this together on a manneqin because I really didn’t have much fabric and couldn’t waste a scrap by using a pattern. Anywhoodles, it’s finally done! Your places please | This is Jennifer Elizabeth

This is Jennifer Elizabeth. February 22, 2013. Looking to jazz the ole’ dining room table recently, I decided to marry my love of stitchery with my respect for wood and create some placemats (is that one word or two? I chose some really nice bright colours and just randomly sliced and spliced. The results are delightful, if very impractical. Basically they stain easily, wash with difficulty and wrinkle like scrunched silk. Oh well! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

This is Jennifer Elizabeth. January 27, 2011. Admittedly it’s a little late in the season to be crying “Christmas miracle”, but something astounding happened in our garden over the weekend and it darn near brought me to tears. Our much loved, lewd looking cactus Carl, burts forth into bloom! I mean, surely this is a once-in-a-hundred-years type event? Read the rest of this entry ». January 16, 2011. This is Jennifer Elizabeth. April 8, 2012. Some may think this is uncool, others may have a hard time caring at all, but this bouquet is entirely made up of flowers that I filched from neighbours. I took a morning stroll with some secateurs and trimmed off foliage that I saw dangling seductively over picket fences. I also gathered some decorative sticks from my own backyard. As a budding florist (ha ha! One Response to “Guerrilla florist”. April 8, 2012 at 9:05 am. Did you do this after we left today?

This is Jennifer Elizabeth. September 20, 2010. I have officially contracted Brooch Mania! Everywhere I look there are things just WAITING to be made into brooches. Take the necklace I broke last week; it’ beautiful, plastic, egg-shaped links just happen to make the perfect frame for a brooch. Backed with some awesome, faux-vintage scraps of fabric, these brooches are my latest and greatest effort so far. Give me a bosom and I’ll give you a brooch! Blog at WordPress.com.

This is Jennifer Elizabeth. February 21, 2013. After my Linden Postcard Show efforts I’m on a roll painting people I see out and about…. I’m going to call this lady Berenice. She likes to drink an early Long Island Iced Tea most mornings. A composite of women that I’ve seen around, she always has set hair and a lipsticked mouth. 2 Responses to “Ha! This is Jennifer Elizabeth. January 10, 2011. Oh Natalie, you ARE the Black Swan , you ARE! Film maker Darren Aronofsky has created a phycho-thriller wrapped in tulle, blood and feathers. Black Swan. Is an ultra melodramatic, urban-gothic creep-fest full of pink ribbons and repressed sexuality. Natalie Portman is the victim/actor of the piece, whose role as the prima ballerina in Swan Lake starts to affect her fragile mind. LOVE IT! One Response to “Pretty Ballerina”. This is Jennifer Elizabeth. It was a dark and stormy night…. February 19, 2013. I’ve been meaning to post this painting for, oh, about a year! I went to a weekend oil painting class and completed this over 6 weeks. I know a chip shop at night isn’t everyone’s cup of chai, but I just loved the glow of the neon lights on all those shiny surfaces. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.
