CA, about 30 miles south of San Francisco. My [rented] house is within walking distance of downtown, and convienent stagering distance from many pubs, the best being The Last Call. Spooky is a big, black, furry, and mean [to KT. Cat He is also very smart. He loves to walk around LG neighborhoods strutting in his red [dog] harness, that and beat up poor KowTown. Jumping into paper bags and boxes.

KowTown is a cat's cat. His ideal day is spent eating, sleeping, getting patted, being dragged outside for a walk, getting patted, and eating - a typical cat. Adjustment from his "only cat" status hasn't always been easy, as he had to accept #2 cat position when Spooky. Arrived. However they have reached a compromise, involving frequent violence, and occasional "furry piling" at bedtime.

Since moving from Oz to California in 2000, courtesy of my employer, life has been good. I arrived at the height of dot com insanity, and have managed to survive so far, the inevitable downturn. The advice about "live in California but leave before you get too soft", definitely holds true.
