Our ski season began typically enough with our annual trip to Squaw Valley. The kids all had new (used, but new to them) skis of their own for the first time and we were to spend the long weekend with a skiing friend and her 3 kids. It was a beautiful sunny day in the mountains the friday before superbowl Sunday. A fun family photo at the top of the chairlift before our first run.

Friday, March 1, 2013. 2 outta 3 aint bad. 2 out of 3 is how many kids could enjoy some skiing in Oregon this year. Just 2 weeks to the day from Kate's accident we left for Sunriver and the rental house that John's sister always reserves for the 10 of us to have a few days of fun in the snow each year. Monday, October 31, 2011. This year for Halloween Dylan decided to be Darth Vader while Andrew decided on the CryptMaster costume after I said no to all the zombie costumes. The giant ax was the biggest selling point. It originally had a skeleton mask but he never liked how it fit, so he used his ninja mask from last year. I think I will be finding little colored feathers around the house for quite some time though. We went around our neighborhood with three other families from school, 10 kids in all!

I've complained at various times about having to take stupid exams - well now, I have to pass an exam that isn't stupid. It isn't hard conceptually, but means really knowing a product line well, and just I don't yet. So I spent this week taking an intense training class at home to prepare for the exam. Fortunately, I had a diligent lab partner. I know, I don't get it either.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Gina's class also do a presentation in May on a historical figure from the 1800s where they dress up as the person and talk about that person's life. Gina's first choice? Laura Ingalls Wilder. She spent the last weekend coming up with a second choice, just in case (Belle Starr). Vegas is one of our favorite vacation spots even though we don't gamble because there is so much to see and for Cory so much to EAT!
