STARS NOT CROSSES: October 2013
http://starsnotcrosses.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 29 October 2013. Hedges, especially when they are stripped of leaves, have long held a fascination for me. The area of Wales where we stayed last week was full of them, and here are just a few of the many pictures I took. I've been making some simple monoprints using the 6" gelli plate. My step grand-daughters were making prints using my A4 gelli plate, so I simple used the colours they were using. Monday, 7 October 2013. Module 3 Chapter 5. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). THIMBLE FINGERS: November 2014
http://thimble-fingers.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a mad stitcher. Saturday, November 15, 2014. I had a brilliant time at this months Art A'peel meeting, it was one of the most enjoyable days I've had in a long time. We spent a day with Textile Artist Elizabeth Morley at her studio on her property at Coolup, just south of Pinjarra. She and her husband only moved to the new property a year ago and they've worked hard and created a wonderful place to visit. The gardens were beautiful and gave us lots of inspiration for drawing and design.

This is a record of my work on the Distant Stitch Level 3 Certificate. Wednesday, 27 July 2011. Day 4 - lines and backgrounds. When preparing backgrounds yesterday I also selected pics of trees - plums grow on trees (and trees play a large part in my life). I chose a fibre tip pen for the first drawing. And then turned it round again for my second attempt at drawing the leaf, concentrating on different types of line:. Tuesday, 26 July 2011. Sketchbook Day 4 - a personal background. Just let me stitch! A record of my work for C&G Level 3 Embroidery Certificate with Distant Stitch. Sunday, 2 September 2012. Module Two. Chapter Two. This chapter continues looking at tone by demonstrating the development of tone in columns of stitching. This first sample uses only cross stitch and black and white threads of varying thicknesses to show tonal range. Strangely I find the reverse quite pleasing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). STARS NOT CROSSES: Chapter 9 part 2
http://starsnotcrosses.blogspot.com/2015/03/chapter-9-part-2.html
Tuesday, 3 March 2015. Chapter 9 part 2. It's good to be working on this again, but I need some feedback! I think this is all fairly self explanatory, but one or two additional points:. I think the shape of the large left hand spiral needs refining which I would do as I couch the cord down. I think it would benefit from the internal spaces being bigger. I quite like the shadowy quality it has. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). And Then We Set It On Fire. What in the world do artists think of us.
