Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: October 2014
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. The year of the comeback. My love for the fall season is true. I love all things fall, especially. An awesome fall night. You know what makes an awesome fall night? Three parts chili, two parts pumpkin, and one part bonfire. And let me tell you about a fall shin-dig that is on point. We hadn't been in SIX years. But this was the year of the comeback. Here's something else that's awesome (How many times can I use the word awesome? Basically until it's not awesome). You know wh...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: Rico lost the love of his life this weekend.
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2011/02/rico-lost-love-of-his-life-this-weekend.html
Sunday, February 20, 2011. Rico lost the love of his life this weekend. We had a tragedy this weekend. I left Saturday morning for Jazzercise. Kiss the kiddos, kiss the husband, "see you in an hour" All was well. I called Rico after Jazz, to see if he wanted to go with me to Wal-Mart. He picks up the phone, and you know how you know your husbands tone? Immediately, I said "what's wrong, are you okay" "I'll live" "what is it? SILENCE* "WHAT HAPPENED" "The kids broke the t.v.". Do you see the fear? We've lo...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: May 2015
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. A glimpse at my summer. I remember when nothing could keep the kids out of the water. Five degrees and blue lips? But that was then. And this is now. We finally headed down to the pool and the kids were pumped! That was until they stuck their toes in the water, and then it was all, HOLY MOLY MOM! THIS IS REALLY COLD! But Pierce was cautious. But finally, and I might add, regrettably on his end, he took the plunge. After that he was content to play OUTSIDE the water. Paul worked tha...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: September 2014
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 25, 2014. Boring G and her bad thyroid. So this beaut of a gal came to see me this past weekend. And what are the odds that she showed up on the weekend that my kids had their fall festival. JUST LIKE LAST YEAR. Best friends stand in the heat and watch your kids play games. Even though we both perked up when the kids did the cake walk. We both spotted something we wanted, and we were seriously cheering them on for a win. AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW? Pierce won an entire cake. I went to the d...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: August 2015
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 28, 2015. In which TWO kids run. In May Pierce started asking, "mom when does running start back up.". And for two months it was that question OVER and OVER. He really loves to run, so when the EXCITING news came in July I almost couldn't hold him back. SON IT'S TIME TO RUN. Now we as a family had been working on running together, and well, as you can see, IT WASN'T PRETTY. Then one night she sheepishly told me, "mom I'm gonna join.". Early on a Saturday morning, both nervous. And once she...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: June 2015
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. Making the best of summer. It was four years ago that I took a very unsure Hope Elizabeth downtown to play in the fountains, you know for FUN! Even though she wasn't so sure about how FUN. It was hotter than hot and she just stood back and watched. Those things freaked her out! But given time she finally jumped in and had a blast. Fast forward four years. The other four jumped right in. Free fun, it doesn't get much better than that. But these two were in it to win it. BUT REALLY...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: November 2014
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2014. A little Thanksgiving warm up. Last week we had the chance to get our Thanksgiving warm up on. School had a special lunch and families were invited. Let me just say, school cafeteria workers are legit. It's hard work, and they do an amazing job. Now it's not my mom's cooking, but ima blame that one on Michelle Obama, cause I think they do the best they can with what they are given. Second grade girls are so giggly. But mostly just adorable. We are so excited about Thanksgiving!

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: December 2014
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 19, 2014. G: "Hey you wanna get together one night this week? Maybe we can make cookies or something with the kids? And then I began to think about the last time we got our kids together to make Christmas memories. Look how little they were. Amazing the difference two years makes. It's pretty sweet how they never skip a beat when we get together, they just get right to being buddies. They do however get wilder than a room full of monkeys. But wild monkeys that always have fun. AINT NOBOD...

Paul, Gretchen, Pierce and Hope: March 2015
http://ratherbeshopping.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. While the men of our life were away with our precious sons, hopefully not killing them. Us girlies decided to have a weekend of estrogen. Here's a little fact about girls: THEY ARE SQUEALY. They scream, they squeal, they cry, they pout, and they are adorable. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE ADORABLE PART. It seemed Tracey and I hardly saw them, they would just run off, close the door and play for hours. We did decide to treat the girls to a pedicure, or well, I should say we tried. After t...
