Painted Rust: July 2013
http://paintedrust.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 14, 2013. When you've been living with a chronic lung disease your entire life you start to notice patterns in the way that people interact with you. Some of them are positive, some are negative, and some are downright humorous. My attempt to lead a cough free life prevailed for years. Then, at some point, I had a change of heart. I don't recall exactly when this happened and I can't remember exactly why my patterns of thinking changed, but for whatever reason I finally came to the c...I rea...

Painted Rust: A pain in the......foot?
http://paintedrust.blogspot.com/2013/06/after-dealing-with-cf-for-nearly-30_26.html
Wednesday, June 26, 2013. A pain in the.foot? After dealing with CF for nearly 30 years I've developed a tendency to undermine any health concern that isn't related to my lungs. A broken arm? No worries, throw a cast on it. Sprained ankle? Ice it. Fever, migraine, nausea? There's a pill for that. This logic always seemed pretty reasonable to me: if it's not going to threaten my ability to breathe, I'm not going to waste my time worrying about it. If you are a medical professional I would highly suggest y...

Painted Rust: He's Back
http://paintedrust.blogspot.com/2013/06/hes-back.html
Friday, June 21, 2013. It's certainly been a while. Almost three years to be exact. So what's new? Lets just say the last 36 months have been busy. How busy? Well, here's a quick recap of the big events that have impacted my life since my last posting:. After putting up with me for more than eight years, Stefanie and I got married. We bought a new house and managed to find some great tenants who are now renting out our loft. I became an uncle. Yes life has been good. Kidney and liver impairment. It's bee...

Painted Rust: December 2008
http://paintedrust.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 8, 2008. Let me get one thing straight - I do appreciate social media. I believe that it facilitates interactive dialogue and intellectual stimulation; however, I have a bone to pick. Too many of us are blogging for brownie points. Let's face it, we aren't all social media gurus. So why waste our time writing about something we really don't care about! That being said, take some initiative and tell it! Enjoy the simple pleasures that come from a well crafted rant. We are so preoccupied w...

Painted Rust: October 2008
http://paintedrust.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2008. There are times when we choose to dwell unnecessarily on the insignificant circumstances of our own petty lives. Call it what you will: narcissism, egoism, conceitedness, etc. The fact is, we are all guilty of it. Problems, trials, tribulations, troubles; they are, on their own, trivial notions. Yet, when they become personalized, when they touch our lives and affect our daily musings, they become entrenched with a new form of individual significance. Why is this problematic?

Painted Rust: February 2009
http://paintedrust.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 13, 2009. Blogging for a Purpose. Lock, load, aim, shoot….blank. Maybe I can’t perform under pressure, or maybe I just don’t have a strong enough passion for social media. Either way, I’m just not down with talking about the social media landscape today. So let me start by apologizing to those of you who expect a well crafted “PR” related blog posting. Quite frankly, I’m not in the mood. What makes my blog unique? What qualifies me to write about Cystic Fibrosis? Well, first of all, they...
