Dick Russell, Executive Director. The year was 1995 when I first heard Tippy Irwin talk about a new program starting up that would help the elderly continue to live independently. That program was Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Program (IVCP). Tippy was the inaugural direcotr of IVCP, and a very dynamic speaker! My lovely wife Kathy recalls that I leaned over to her and said "When we're not busy with kids anymore, I'd like to be involved with that group.". Sandra Ruble, Office Coordinator.

20 Years and Counting! Faith in Action Steuben County began as "Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Program of the Greater Hornell Area" in January, 1995; with an extraordinary amount of legwork by a compassionate from Hornell and surrounding communities who recognized that often, people were released from the hospital before they were entirely able to take care of themselves. The numbers have grown to over 150 volunteers, 350 recipients, giving 6,700 hours, and driving 70,000 miles in the process!

A Lift to the Laundromat. It was January of 2012 that Mary Beth passed away. Reading through her obituary brought to light an illustrious teaching career and many other interests that we had no idea of. She graciously asked that Faith in Action be the recipient of memorial contributions. But this is not the end of the story. Ut not only that, what a wonderful legacy for her. She will be mentioned and remembered as Faith in Action continues serving people that just need A lift to the Laundromat.

I’m currently working on a film trilogy based on August Strindberg’s famous play. She’s Blonde Like Me. Is out there on festivals. The second one. Was shot this summer and will have its TV-premiere in May 2012 (read more about it under 2011). The third one. She’s Wild Again Tonight. Is under preproduction.
