A Fiber Frolic: Montana Shopping
http://fiberfrolic.blogspot.com/2008/09/montana-shopping.html
Notes from she who likes working with fibers. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. On my recent trip to Yellowstone National Park(Wyoming) and Glacier National Park(Montana), I saw spectacular sights in every direction. A single photograph or even a whole memory card full of pictures does not do it justice. I managed in between parks to squeeze in a few fiber experiences, and those were spectacular as well. In Bozeman I visited Stix. And The Yarn Shop. I had a delightful and informative tour of the facility than...
A Fiber Frolic: June 2006
http://fiberfrolic.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Notes from she who likes working with fibers. Thursday, June 29, 2006. Another MS&W purchase was a Bosworth spindle. It is a .77 oz. tulipwood whorl and a bloodwood shaft. The woods are so warm and appealing. I'm quite pleased with it. As for knitting . . finishing the fourth hat for giving and nearing completion of the Icarus. There defintely will be a picture of that when done. . . and that will be soon, I hope. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gainesville, Georgia, United States. View my complete profile.
A Fiber Frolic: Happy results from the new carder.
http://fiberfrolic.blogspot.com/2007/08/happy-results-from-new-carder.html
Notes from she who likes working with fibers. Sunday, August 26, 2007. Happy results from the new carder. I've been saving some "what if" projects for the relatively new carder and finally have results. The first one was to blend a multi-colored (blues and greens) perendale batt. I took a picture of the pile of colors, but the picture got deleted before it made it to the computer. I do have the blended batts though. I am working on some other carder projects, but no pictures yet. View my complete profile.

Notes from she who likes working with fibers. Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Four gloves and more. One glove turned into two. Then having to try a different cast on and yarn from the stash, two became four. What have I learned? Ready for the next dance . . . Tuesday, December 13, 2005. And the dance goes on. Notes from she who likes working with fibers. Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Swan Lake - My Odile. In the beginning, the Prince sees a flock of beautiful swans symbolized by the traditional lace pattern, "Wings of the Swan.". He waits and watches for the swans to land only to discover they are women, dancing women. The center part of the stole is knit in the Shetland lace design, "Cat's Paw," symbolizing the Dance of the Little Swans. The Prince dances with Princess Odette and falls in love. And a lingering p...

Yarn in the Turqua color. Don't know whether they'll be toe-up or top down yet. I just wound the skein and am swatching a bit since I've never knit with it before. I'm going to figure out my gauge and some stitch patterns so I'm ready to cast on during the opening ceremonies. Posted by Vicki @ 10:02 AM. Here's a shot of ...

http://fibercorner.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Daily life of a knitting designer/publisher of handknitting patterns. Saturday, March 25, 2006. I've been trying to avoid getting caught up in the spindle buying frenzy that's been going around. But this week it finally caught up with me. Here perched in my latest fiber display is my new spindle made by Steve Kundert. Isn't it a beauty! It's one of his new designs and has a walnut whorl and shaft and cherry, maple and walnut woods for decoration. The weight is 1.2 oz. How does it spin? Yes, I've been a r...

Daily life of a knitting designer/publisher of handknitting patterns. Monday, May 29, 2006. Lately, I've been spindling or spinning on my wheel in all my spare moments. So, here are some works in progress shots. On the left, on my Kundert spindle, is some superwash Merino in Electra from Lisa. On my wheel, I'm practicing the long draw with some Hidden Valley Farm roving I purchased last summer. And surprise, surprise, I'm spinning it worsted weight! My long term wheel project is also some of Lisa's.

Daily life of a knitting designer/publisher of handknitting patterns. Sunday, June 11, 2006. After all the shopping at MS&W, you would think I'd be all set, but parcels have steadily been arriving over the last month. The last arrival was this gorgeous silk top dyed by Carol Weymar. Daily life of a knitting designer/publisher of handknitting patterns. Thursday, April 27, 2006. Magic with Dyeing and Plying. The pictures and review of Patsy's class at John C Campbell Folk School. The title of the class was Magic with Dyeing and Plying. If you've never taken a class with Patsy Z. I highly recommend it. Daily life of a knitting designer/publisher of handknitting patterns. Friday, August 04, 2006. Yes, I've been a very bad blogger. But will try to make up for it by showing you something which arrived in the mail yesterday. Look at all this gorgeous Jonquil Wensleydale! It makes me think of honey sweet corn and butter and wheat. Yes, it was dyed by that Master of the Dyepot, Lisa Souza. In knitting news, I finished Hyrna from the Three Cornered and Long Shawls book. It's knit from Lisa's Sock! Wings and S...
