Life, ministry and being an "Ordained Entrepreneur". Wednesday, 23 May 2012. It's good to fail. fast. A little under a month ago, some friends and I announced an offer to launch a free service - free to set up, free to use, free to leave, free of advertising. The service is a way of getting up and running with a modern, social web site - that's the technology - and a community of willing helpers collaborating to get better results for everyone. I don't care if you're a back end developer, a front-end dev...

Life, ministry and being an "Ordained Entrepreneur". Thursday, 26 April 2012. Churches, the web, social media, all that. Why did books take off? You know books - those things where you make flat sheets of paper, bind them together - those things. Why did they take off? Well, at least one of the reasons was that they were a very good way to get to the Bible and its constituent bits - way more convenient than scrolls. And when printing made its way to Europe, what rolled off the presses? Er, good question.

Life, ministry and being an "Ordained Entrepreneur". Thursday, 19 February 2009. I am packed and compact, as moment melts to moment. For I live in minus-time. I own the countdown,. Know its cause, anticipate its result,. Even exult in the confident uncertainty . Yours is the aim, yours the goal, yours the eye:. What shall I say? That trust is past or promise lost? By no means. I expect and do not fear. To be flung and tumbled free into such air. Links to this post. Monday, 16 February 2009. In times of t...

Life, ministry and being an "Ordained Entrepreneur". Sunday, 28 February 2010. 8220;Stand Firm – Keep Going”. It’s all in the watching. Well, actually there’s more to it than that, but unless you’re watching really carefully then you’re lost. No, unless we are all watching really carefully then we’re all lost. Have you been watching any of the Winter Olympics? Now, Biblical scholarship will never be complete this side of eternity, but I’m about as sure as I can be that the apostle Paul wasn’t. Thinking a...

Life, ministry and being an "Ordained Entrepreneur". Sunday, 10 May 2009. Do you remember the game Mousetrap? It involved fitting pieces onto a board, so that when a mouse was in the right place, a sequence of weird and wonderful events meant it got trapped - if. 160;every piece was set up properly. So here I am with my board set up, and heres what I think the sequence will be. I am emailing post@posterous.com. Which, by the way, is all you need to do to get your own account. After some time,. When that ...

Life, ministry and being an "Ordained Entrepreneur". Monday, 22 February 2010. 8220;Clear your desk! Those are words to knot your stomach. We all want to feel irreplaceable, but in business it can’t be so. Do you think the manager in Jesus’ story saw it coming? Was he lazy or greedy, dishonest or incompetent? The boss isn’t happy and this time it’s the chop – he just has time for a handover of the paperwork. OK, we’re agreed. Yes, I’d love. The boss gets wind of what he’s been up to and hauls him i...
