Inch by Inch Textiles: February 2015
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 25 February 2015. Some other 2014 stuff. I'll come back to Africa in a bit. Here are some things I've done in 2014 that haven't made it to the blog. Had a Birthstones challenge in 2014. The idea was to build up a resource that might be useful later on. I'm not sure it's going to work like that for me but it was a useful discipline, making pages on a specific theme all year. My pages about garnet were mostly geological, but I found lots of fantastic examples of Roman garnet and gold jewellery.

Inch by Inch Textiles: UFO Month
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015/05/ufo-month.html
Sunday, 24 May 2015. That seemed like a fun idea to me. I have had a list of all my various unfinished projects for a long time, so I chose all the ones that could be worked on, acquired a random number generator for my device and I was ready! So much for that idea. But as I was looking for things in my workroom, I found a UFO from Fibrecircle back here. A Byzantine church in Ravenna and shows Christ flanked by angels. I've chosen to make my image look like a leaf of a manuscript (this part yet to be...

Inch by Inch Textiles: Untethered - out of hand
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015/06/untethered-out-of-hand.html
Wednesday, 10 June 2015. Untethered - out of hand. I meant to write more here about my work for. But I got distracted between other blogs and the Untethered Facebook group. I'm finally about to print my silhouetted lady - this week, I hope! I know exactly what I want to do with her now, so it's just a matter of doing it. Once I have her printed, I'll post a progress photo. Labels: out of hand. A wanton woman.a hussy! 10 June 2015 at 23:02. No better than she should be. And all that. 11 June 2015 at 16:12.

Inch by Inch Textiles: August 2014
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 16 August 2014. And more about the knitting. Meanwhile, I've been going great guns on my knitting. It's amazing how quickly it grows, when you do a couple of hours every evening. I don't think I could knit much more than that - my hands would get too sore! I've finished the back, the two fronts and one sleeve now, and I'm halfway up the second sleeve. In #286 Maroon. It seems to have been a hugely popular shade, because it's no longer listed on their website! It's hard to photograph well! It's ...

Inch by Inch Textiles: May 2015
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 May 2015. Rhapsody in Blues is the theme for the ATASDA display at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair at Glebe Island in June. Six of the members of Fibrecircle are creating a collaborative work for this stand, shortly to be unveiled over on the Fibrecircle blog. This is my section of this larger work. This is rather deceptive of me, because the main work looks nothing like this! Well, you'll see in a few days, when it's assembled for display and I put a photo over on that blog! Once I looked a...

Inch by Inch Textiles: March 2015
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 March 2015. Taking a small step from printing. I had a lovely day with Maz recently, dyeing some bits and pieces. Nothing particularly remarkable - this was bib-and-braces dyeing, stuff that's going to have something more interesting happening to it. But in the interest of process. It's turned out rather more. orange. than I expected, considering how much pink it had. But it will be wonderful woven with another couple of colours. Monday, 9 March 2015. A little bit of printing does you good #3.

Inch by Inch Textiles: January 2015
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 1 January 2015. And more about Africa - Cape Town. But I've also discovered that it's something of a weed in Australia and many councils have it listed as a problem species, so I won't be adding it any time soon. I guess I could go walking in the bush with my identification sheet - no-one would mind if I stripped some bark off a tree that they don't want there in the first place, would they? I also had a close encounter with a squirrel in the Gardens. Then it was, "May I just sit in your lap?

Inch by Inch Textiles: Spray dyeing with the Fibrecircle group
http://inchtextiles.blogspot.com/2015/04/spray-dyeing-with-fibrecircle-group.html
Sunday, 26 April 2015. Spray dyeing with the Fibrecircle group. These posts are a bit out of order here, as I actually did this before my playday with Claire. It also wasn't dyeing - we were using Dala Sun Colors, which seem to fall somewhere between fabric paints and dyes. But the principle was the same. You can read all about it on the Fibrecircle. Trees They were also experiments for the untethered piece, as I think I will probably use this technique using coated paper as stencils. Plenty of things to...
