Books and Bacon: December 2010
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Friday, December 31, 2010. Chronic Betty's Best of 2010. My original thought, when planning this post, was that 2010 was kind of a "meh" reading year for me. But after flipping through my journal, I realised that there were some good things in there, just didn't find any new (to me) authors who absolutely knocked my socks off. What the Librarian Did. Made to Be Broken. By Ilona Andrews was good. Sometime in the new year. By Jennifer Crusie,. The Girl Who Chased the Moon.

Books and Bacon: November 2010
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Review: Incantation by Alice Hoffman. Review by Lora (DivaBetty). Allow me to begin by confessing my adoration for Hoffman's bewitching coldly-observant-on-the-outside-heartbreaking-in-the-center style. If you require references in addition to my oath of fealty. Check out The Probable Future or Green Angel for astonishing proof of her power. Officials begin to set more regulations on the Jews in town- surgical practice/medicine is banned as well ...

Books and Bacon: You Must Read This Book
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2011/05/you-must-read-this-book.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. You Must Read This Book. Y'all The sun is shining, the birds are singing (okay, the geese are honking, which isn't quite as pleasant, but whatever), and I read a really, really good book today. One of my Goodreads friends recommended it to me, and I'm so happy they did. This story should not be missed. Here's the blurb (it doesn't do the story justice by any means, but it's what we've got to work with):. Danny under his thumb. Kevin only likes girls.

Books and Bacon: Clear Water by Amy Lane
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2012/04/clear-water-by-amy-lane.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Monday, April 30, 2012. Clear Water by Amy Lane. And Patrick has bought into this way of thinking, calling himself a fuckup and constantly apologizing and talking about how he needs to get his shit together. But the Patrick that we see, and that Whiskey sees, is a kind, smart, curious, big-hearted, vulnerable man desperately in need of people who will believe in him. Also, the last chapter was sweet, but it was pretty anti-climactic and could have been cut down a lot. We ar...

Books and Bacon: September 2011
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Sunday, September 4, 2011. I had a thought today. (I know. Don't fall over in shock or anything.) I've been thinking a lot lately about romantic comedy in m/m (male/male). Basically, there is none. Well, that's not true. There are books that people call. Romantic comedy. But it's a pretty small percentage of the total sub-genre. And what I've read hasn't left me with the same satisfaction that m/f (male/female) romcom does. It takes me a while, but I get there eventually.

Books and Bacon: February 2011
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Monday, February 28, 2011. Mini Monday, the Carina Press Edition. After buying/borrowing quite a few books this month, I decided to spend the last weekend of February trying to make a dent in my TBR stockpile. Thanks to my friends at Kobo and their generous use of coupons, I have a slightly frightening backlog of Carina Press titles, so I dove into those. Here's what I read this weekend. Blinded By Our Eyes. Not a bad read, but not to my taste. Kevin Kowalski is the only on...

Books and Bacon: May 2011
http://booksandbacon.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Salty, crispy, booky goodness. Monday, May 16, 2011. Mini Monday, the Shameful Neglect Edition. It's been ages since I've posted much of anything, let alone a mini Monday, but I read a little story tonight that is perfect for one, so here we go. At 46 pages this was a cute, fluffy little read, but there could have been real depth to the story if it was expanded to about 2-3 times that length. Labels: Mini Review Monday. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. You Must Read This Book. So why does he keep thinking about her?
