Azure Slumber: It's Alive
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2011/07/its-alive.html
Thursday, July 21, 2011. I also replaced some bearings and pulled everything apart, cleaned it and re-greased parts. Some of the bearing races are in bad shape. I just hope it will work for now. The worst part is the rear hub with a Shimano Coaster Brake MX. I ordered a repair kit for it and hope that the parts are compatible. I should find out next week. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Azure Slumber: September 2009
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 19, 2009. I just purchased a Big Agnes. Most people carry a tarp on the PCT, but I really like the bug protection you get from a tent. Maybe someday I'll start using a tarp on shorter trips, but for a long distance hike, a tent makes more sense to me. Tuesday, September 8, 2009. A Good Night's Sleep. I just bought a Super Stretch Down Hugger #1 Short from Mont-Bell. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Azure Slumber: Teak Planter Top
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2012/01/teak-planter-top.html
Monday, January 23, 2012. While hand planing the top, I remembered how teak dulls tools fast due to a high amount of silica in the wood. I had to re-sharpen my plane blade after I finished this small piece. I sure like the feel of the teak in my hands and the smell, but it's really an expensive wood. Azure Slumber: November 2008
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Dining Chairs Almost Done. I'm almost done re-upholstering the dining room chairs that I can remember my grandparents having all my life. The horrible pink fabric, if you can call it that, is the original, bomb proof synthetic fabric. Mom picked out the second light blue fabric, which I put on one chair. Since the green carpet will be replaced with a mid-toned blue carpet, I think the chairs would just look washed out. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Azure Slumber: Standing Desk
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2011/07/standing-desk.html
Saturday, July 2, 2011. I've recently injured my back making it hard to sit for very long. So, I've decided to make a standing desk for drawing. I wanted something that's somewhat height and angle adjustable. What I really want is a treadmill desk for my computer set up, but beyond my financial resources at the moment. I cycled through about 20 different designs before settling on the simplest to build. Some required complicated adjusting mechanisms. I also have 90% of the materials that I need.

Azure Slumber: Journaling the Trail
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2010/03/journaling-trail.html
Sunday, March 28, 2010. It's almost time to start my hike. I'm making last minute preparations, getting everything in order for the trip. On my AT hike, I carried a journal that I recorded a brief synopsis of my days. This hike, I plan to journal online at Trail Journals. Hopefully I'll be able to post many photos and journal in a bit more detail, mainly for myself, family, and friends. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Azure Slumber: March 2009
http://azureslumber.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. I found a butterfly pillow cover in a knitting book, but the pattern seemed overly complicated. Mom loves butterflies, so this was something I've had in mind to knit for Christmas for a few years. I kept the butterfly pattern, but changed the pattern above and below that. It's knit in Alchemy Yarns. Different versions I worked out in photoshop prior to deciding on colors and pattern. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
