The Weeping Willow and The Ficus

Thursday, June 4, 2015. Methinks there is something in the water. There was something in the water in our house on Kiowa Ave. It was like the fertility goddesses' sacred pool spewed from our kitchen sink. It began with Harry, our giant desert hairy scorpion. Surprisingly, desert hairy scorpions make GREAT pets. You can find the tutorial on how to set up a tank here. I'm actually really fond of Harry (disclaimer: I'm fond of Harry if she is in her glass enclosure with a lid on it). Well, Harry is pregnant.

The Weeping Willow and The Ficus: Hello, again

http://www.ficusandwillow.blogspot.com/2015/06/hello-again.html

Tuesday, June 2, 2015. It is pretty obvious I have commitment issues. It smacks you across the face when you come to my blog. A post here, a post there- some semblance of semi-regular postings. Then, POOF. I'm off on a 9 month writing sabbatical. I like to make choices on the fly and swing life by the seat of my pants. I'm not necessarily an adrenaline junkie; I just have a hard time getting my act together, which results in rapid fire decision making out of necessity. It's all about rebranding these days.

The Weeping Willow and The Ficus: Where the Wild Things Are.

http://www.ficusandwillow.blogspot.com/2014/09/where-wild-things-are.html

Thursday, September 11, 2014. Where the Wild Things Are. Do you know how hard it is to come up with a title to describe essentially the same thing you've already discussed in like. 80% of your blog? It's me and my dogs in the Wilderness. again.". What I am basically trying to say is that I will try to be better about writing more things than just those that are related to Northern Arizona. That being said,. Check out our latest venture to the Payson area. Jon had grown this magnificent beard for the trip...

The Weeping Willow and The Ficus: Disneyland for Dogs

http://www.ficusandwillow.blogspot.com/2014/08/disneyland-for-dogs.html

Sunday, August 24, 2014. Jon heard the call of the Wild; I heard the sound of a creme soda opening. Regardless of what we heard, we both knew it was time for a weekend mountain getaway. Seriously, how precious is this? Husbeast with the furbaby. Pasta salad, a cold creme soda (aka: Nectar of the gods), Taylor Swift, and two Mutts. The only thing that would have made this trip better is if I won the lottery. The scenery on the way up was absolutely beautiful. Arizona, you're alright. Let me tell you, plas...

The Weeping Willow and The Ficus: About Me

http://www.ficusandwillow.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html

I'm Kylie, the Magnificent. My main interests revolve around art and science. I grew up on a farm and have a knack with horses. I graduated college with a four year degree. And am setting out to make an impact on the world. I dream of being a writer on the New York Bestsellers list. And someday successfully making dinner without destroying the kitchen. I've been married for a year and a half. We haven't killed each other yet; so I assume it's going great. Let's be friends. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Finding the magic in the every day *. Thursday, July 25, 2013. They Say It's Good to Have Goals. When I graduated college a few months ago, I was turned out into the world with no goals to speak of and a rather fuzzy idea of who I was that was the result of too little sleep, too many essays, and not enough "me" time. Then came a period of panic as I tried to remember what I liked. To do and to figure out what I wanted. And summer institute and being brave. Of course, this summer is different in several p...

Sunday, July 6, 2014. Double Best In Show. Yes, that is indeed the look on my face at the moment. I'm speechless still, two weeks after winning a double Best In Show with.*drum roll*. two homebred Holland Lop junior bucks! D I entered seven animals on June 21st for our WRBA show in Salt Lake City, five of which were homebreds who were on their first time out. Little Rascal's Rabbitry: January 2014

http://littlerascalsrabbitry.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 24, 2014. Ooooh my heavens, I have a full house. Lol! Currently with an outstanding 32 holes, my rabbitry is practically over-flowing. I have so many nice juniors waiting for cage space and additionally, so many sale animals waiting for their new owner! Unfortunately, lately everyone has wanted Hollands and as you all know, I will not sell my hollands until they're 4-6 months old. All but two of my sale animals are Hotots! Anyways, here's a few pictures of Hotot babies that I took today!

Little Rascal's Rabbitry: August 2013

http://littlerascalsrabbitry.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 30, 2013. Well, this was inevitable but since my family and I are in the middle of building our home and moving, I've decided to take a long break from my blog. I seldom have more than 10 minutes a day on an iphone to check and answer emails and facebook messages for rabbits and also keep up with my closest friends. I have gotten some excellent juniors to grow out lately that I'm very excited about! I'm not sure if I will follow through and start showing though. As much as I love the s...

Monday, April 28, 2014. A New Road For This Breeder. Additionally, I've picked out my new horse. It's just a matter of taking the time a few times each week to visit her 80 minutes from my home, to ride and get to know her before her current owner will consider releasing her to me. That is definitely going to take a ridiculous amount of time (and gas money) to visit her. I may grow them out for another month to see their true type. I need to make sure they're all finished with their jr molt before I ...

As of now, I have Zivago, Thompson, Swagger, Tyler, Classy, and Beau as my current working bucks. :-D I love them all and don't know where I would be without them! Zivago is my main man. he's a. http://littlerascalsrabbitry.blogspot.com/2014/07/well-on-our-way-to-3-years.html

Monday, July 7, 2014. Well On Our Way To 3 Years! After yesterday's post, I began thinking about how long it has really been since I really started getting back into rabbits. In February 2012, I picked up two Dwarf Hotot bucks with the full intention of using them for the revamping of my project. Which means that I am two years and five months into it! Two weeks before my one-year mark. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). American Dwarf Hotot Rabbit Club. Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club.

Little Rascal's Rabbitry: RIP Valentina :'(

http://littlerascalsrabbitry.blogspot.com/2014/04/rip-valentina.html

Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Today, I was happily walking around the barn when I got home, feeding the hungry bunnies when I came to Valentina's cage and quickly concluded that my best doe was in fact, dead. Strewn about her still body were mouthfuls of pulled fur. and no babies. I dropped the feed bucket in my hands and pulled Val out to examine her; .to confirm my fears. Feeling of loss and a breaking heart creep up on me. Today, I learned the truth of the old veterinary saying: "If the patient gets bett...
