1 week to go. | Fidget Widgets
https://fidgetwidgets.wordpress.com/2012/08/24/1-week-to-go
1 week to go. It is coming to the end of my part in the process now. We had a team meeting on Wednesday 22nd to discuss what I had been up to and the next stages. I shared all of the most useful information I had discovered, through things I have put up on this blog (links, videos etc.) and also the following papers/books. Dementia Reconsidered – Tom Kitwood. Dementia and the phenomenon of social death – Helen Sweeting and Mary Gilhooly. Soothing the senses – Jennifer Trueland, Nursing Standard. The next...

Where I’m at. This post is more for my own reference. At the moment I am finding that my literature reviewing is all taking me to the same place, mostly making the same points and a reference used in almost every paper I have read is Tom Kitwood’s Dementia Reconsidered. I am currently reading this book, although it seems that the papers I have read have collectively made all of the important references. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. These are the categories that I currently have the objects in. The last are ones i couldn’t decide on where to put them, although there are some similarities in them. It has been mentioned that maybe we will need to do this exercise as a group, or otherwise ask different groups of people to undertake this task and see what similarities and differences there are in peoples versions. How does it feel? I found this interview. Today It is an interview with a very clever man with dementia, it answers some important questions about how dementia makes the person with it feel. It is another source which acknowledges the difficulties and affirms that my thinking is to some degree correct. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Friday, 7 February 2014. Sweet making for Yule. Better late than never. I did make sweets for Yule. I made fudge, both white chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge. I also made coconut ice and some melt in the middle truffles. And some peppermint creams. At some point between Xmas and New year, I also made cheese gougeres. These are lovely cheesy bites made with cheese choux pastry. They vanished almost as soon as they came out of the oven. Next "sweet" first I plan is a batch of Scottish Tablet. This i...

One Year in Pictures. Well the last time we made a blog post was nearly a year ago. It has been a great year for our family. We've had a lot big changes and had a lot of fun along the way. The biggest change has definitely been our family growing from 3 members to 4! We found out we were pregnant just after we got home from St. Augustine last year. It turned out I biked over 80 miles 5 weeks pregnant! It is a monster! Sometime near Christmas Karin and Tawnya came to visit us. We had a wonderful visit...
