Thursday, October 23, 2014. Last Sigh of Summer: Shiitake Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwiches. A new F&FP favorite, the Shiitake BLT! Northern Wisconsin really didn't have summer this year. Mostly cool, rainy, and plagued with a never-ending, relentless crop of mosquitoes, no one wanted to spend much time outdoors. Some things on the farm managed to shine through regardless. The blueberry crop was exceptional with all of the rain and cooler temps, producing berries the size of marbles! 189; tsp salt.

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Fish and Mushroom Soup. A generous splash of extra virgin olive oil. 2-3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 shallot, chopped. 1 leek, chopped. A handful baby carrots, or a few large carrots. 189; fennel bulb plus a handful tender top greens, chopped. 2 large lion’s mane mushrooms. 4 fish fillets (white fish, cod, or another similar fish). A few saffron threads (optional). 2-3 tsp. herbes de provence (or a little thyme, basil, oregano, rosemary, and lavender. About 1 Tbsp. tomato paste.
