Sunday, December 21, 2008. Saguaro National Park and Sonora Desert Museum. Today we toured the Sonora Desert Museum and Saguaro National Park near Tucson. Brian and Laura spent last night at our friends the Kayfes. With eight of us we took two vehicles across the valley to the museum. Temperatures started in the mid 40s, but warmed into the mid 60s as the day went on. Sunday, January 11, 2009. On our trip from Phoenix to the KOA here in Laughlin, we set foot in our 47th and 48th states yesterday! We haven’t updated the map on the back of the trailer yet, but will shortly. When you look at all the states on the map it hardly seem possible to visit them all on the same trip. Sunday, November 30, 2008. While the kids were digging in the sand enjoying the 70 degree weather, I washed the Tallahassee mud off the truck and trailer. This is one of the few RV parks we have stayed in that allows rig washing, and in fact has a separate well system to support it. Thursday, January 8, 2009. Monument Valley, Utah. After a light hotel breakfast looking out over the icy Animus River, we took a quick morning drive through downtown Durango. Friday, August 29, 2008. Our timing in Chicago couldn’t have been any better, at least according to Brian. We arrived just in time for the start of the Chicago Jazz Festival! It is impressive that in a city this size the entire Festival is free of charge, and that we were able to get great seats for the opening act just by walking up an hour before it started.
