Initially, there were more diagrams that increased the length of the boss fight with more complexity. However, after review with the creative director, it was simplified and shortened to meet time restraints. This first diagram shows the starting positions of the player and the boss, according to a previous trigger that sets the player up in that spot, and the initial legend showing what the markers are and how attacks are played out. Finding Fun through Design. There were two things that gave me a lot of trouble for this prototype and it's still not good enough: camera control and momentum in the forward direction while reducing side-to-side momentum when swinging forward. In keeping the levels tight and to the point, I created a box that filled the screen and created modular platforms and walls. Finding Fun through Design. Initial concept drawing with text to explain everything. After some critique, it was mentioned that it would be cool to have an isometric, circular theme in building this level out. I thought it was a great idea and rolled with it. Used Adobe Flash and a cintiq (from school) to create this. I would usually just rough it out on paper before bringing it to flash to create a cleaner mockup. Final document without guidelines and presented with callouts to help visualize the level.

A short four-page pitch showcasing the original idea for my thesis project. While most of the content has been refined or changed, it's a good reference to look back on in order to remember the original intent and how that can be made better and more fun.
