A day with Opera | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/a-day-with-opera
Lots of Love for Linux. A day with Opera. There’s a very good piece of software there, and it seems like the developers want to make it absolutely impossible for me to enjoy it. I tried a few times to make Opera my default browser, and every time I spend hours tweaking and configuring things, and even longer hours searching the web how things should be configured or tweaked. And then I just give up. But it sure feels like it some times. Think I’m nitpicking? Maybe I am, but the whole panel/bar/everything...

The inevitable announcement of a hiatus | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2010/10/29/the-inevitable-announcement-of-a-hiatus
Lots of Love for Linux. The inevitable announcement of a hiatus. The more observant amongst you probably noticed a lack of new content here…apparently, I can’t bring myself to post about my “linux adventures anymore”. As far as I can see, there are three reasons for that. Anyway, this will be the last post for a while. If I suddenly start tinkering again, the results will be posted here. Peace out. A day at the Opera, part two | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2010/07/13/a-day-at-the-opera-part-two
Lots of Love for Linux. A day at the Opera, part two. I’ve blogged about Opera before, and at the time. Version 9.5), I didn’t like it at all. It felt too clunky and too difficult to configure to keep it around, and at the time I switched back to Firefox. I semi-regularly kept trying the new versions, and each time came to the same conclusions. Now however, there is a new version. Dolphin in KDE 4.5 | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/dolphin-in-kde-4-5
Lots of Love for Linux. Dolphin in KDE 4.5. KDE 45 has been good to me so far, except the monstrosity that is Dolphin. I was already irked by the slowness and the crazy sorting behaviour, now it hangs 10 t 15 seconds when I try to do CPU-heavy tasks like no file manager was ever meant to do, oh, I don’t know, move a file. Or maybe copy one. Opening a directory. Stuff like that. This entry was posted on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 at 2:26 pm and is filed under linux. Feed You can leave a response. Is yo...

Qt versus GTK | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/qt-versus-gtk
Lots of Love for Linux. I wrote a series about Qt and GTK applications in different categories, and this page is a nice way for people to read them all at once. Please note that yes, the title is a bit misleading. I’m not comparing the toolkits themselves, but the applications that use the toolkits. Arch Openbox screenshots: June « Celettu’s Weblog. Oh Windows 7, you tease | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/2010/08/17/oh-windows-7-you-tease
Lots of Love for Linux. Oh Windows 7, you tease. It irritated me so much I contemplated the impossible: switching back to Windows. I have to use XP at work and I don’t like it at all, but it doesn’t bug me as much as it used to. I also follow a course in configuring Windows 7, and 7 is also installed on my girlfriend’s LT. I like it a lot. It’s beautiful, fast, and it works. Driver from HP, but it didn’t work on my PC. What was I thinking? This entry was posted on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 at 4:42 pm an...

IceWM Guide | Celettu's Weblog
https://celettu.wordpress.com/icewm-guide
Lots of Love for Linux. IceWM is a delightful little window manager, which aims to be must faster than the standard desktop environments like Gnome or KDE, without being as sparse as, for example, Openbox. Default IceWM is perfectly usable, but ugly, and changing the look and feel can take some time. Everything in here I tried myself, but most of it I found somewhere else. This is where I got my inspiration:. Urukrama’s Openbox Guide. A veritable goldmine of information, along with the Arch forums. First...
