Thursday, 30 April 2015. Toasty is a project I had in mind to design- inspired by a silhouette on the high street few years ago. Couple of months ago it was time to act. Outlines were drawn, details were added, schematics calculated and few swatches knitted. I chose lamb wool no. 1 by Patricia Roberts in charcoal- heavy fingering weigh. Saturday, 15 November 2014. The 2nd travel project I took to New York was the Marin. Close up of cable in shape of 'X'. Close up of cable that helps create an edge curve. Short rows that make the extra fabric that curves around the shoulders. The yarn is Cashmere lace from Hedgehog fibres which is held double knitted in 3.5mm circulars. Sunday, 28 September 2014. Endearment and a Donkey! My Endearment is complete and here is the proof :-). I was trying to persuade this beautiful mare to tilt her head to the camera but she stubbornly insisted of showing us ,ahem. her ass. Where I live there are ever growing in numbers herds of well behaved donkeys. This late September there are few new adorable foals which will have to grow fast to survive the winter's cold. Tuesday, 28 July 2015. My latest cardigan- TAU. An asymmetrical front, knitted from the top down with raglan sleeve shaping, a basket weave pattern textures the front panel and sleeve cuffs. There is a large positive ease so I chose the extra small size at first, knitted down to almost sleeves separation and then noticed the neck line, much tighter and rounder than the other sizes and not at all flattering. Saturday, 20 December 2014. This is a shaken or stirred. By Tea Colman. An attractive top down, shawl collared cardigan with some colour work and nice details. I always coveted the luxurious madelintosh pashmina but I'm afraid it was the wrong yarn for this project. I should have picked something a bit more bouncy and less drape-y. Thursday, 16 April 2015. Funky grandpa in Crete. 65279;. I packed my newly finished Grandpa by the lovely Rililie. Which was light enough to wear the last sunny day of our holiday. Not for the first time I stole/copied/inspired by the version of my dear friend the cycling-knitter. Beautiful little details. Oh and the icord bind off of the cuffs, nice short rows on the button band and double the yarn on the bottom Rib. It really is a funky fun knit! Kettle yarn co Beyul. Uncommon thread tough sock.

Saturday, 5 July 2014. I was just on Ravelry. To catalogue my overdue BlueSand and noticed there are currently 554 projects logged- this is one popular buttonless cardigan by the designer La Maison Rililie which fast becoming one of my favourites. Have a look at her other designs and her blog. I loved knitting it , there is a lot of mindless stockinette with the anticipation of color change. Thursday, 12 March 2015. Another design from Amy Christoffer and the first time to use my latest purchases from the New York trip. I knitted this popular cardi in no time at all - less then two weeks, just flew off the needles. A good way to destash some dk or worsted yarn with a good stitch definition. The cabled pattern is bold enough to sustain the variegated yarn. Tosh sock holy festival. Back to my Acer, here is a close up of that beautiful yarn spotting. 12 March 2015 at 06:49. Monday, 11 May 2015. Here is Toasty, all done and dusted! The fronts and back are knitted separately, while the sleeves are seamlessly knitted from armhole. It has been a challenging design for me and now I'm allowing myself to feel smugness about this. It is still not perfect and it needs to be recalculated to a heavier yarn with less seams but for now it will suffice. So here you have it- with my Toasty on a chilly spring day . Links to this post.
