Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Life Lesson #3: Making Room for More. This post isn't about dogs; in fact, you'll be glad no canines were involved. Hurricane Irene rolled into New Jersey late Saturday night. We worried about downed trees on our quaint little town's tree-lined streets. We worried about not having electricity. Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog: ADOPTED: The Buster Effect
http://dogfoster.blogspot.com/2012/05/adopted-buster-effect.html
Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog. Saturday, May 5, 2012. ADOPTED: The Buster Effect. This post is long overdue considering that we fostered Buster almost a month ago. With each foster dog, I continue to be amazed with what I learn about animal rescue. Buster was found as a stray in a local city- emaciated and clearly not cared for. The family who found him tried unsuccessfully to find him a home because they couldn't keep him. They contacted our rescue group to see if we could take him. Aw, i love it....

http://dogfoster.blogspot.com/2012/02/oreo-one-sweet-cookie.html
Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog. Monday, February 20, 2012. Oreo, One Sweet Cookie. I've always wanted to name a dog Oreo. And when this pup with black on outside and white on the inside came along, I thought "Oreo" would be a perfect fit. (Not to mention he had no name—only a number—in the shelter where he came from.). Petfinder still doesn't have a "mutt" option for breed, so tell me. What do you think is in the mix? Posted by Kimberly Greene. February 20, 2012 at 8:18 PM. Erika, Blair and crew. This d...

Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog. Sunday, January 29, 2012. We took in Jumpin' Joplin from a shelter in Virginia. We're told he was a stray running the streets dodging traffic. Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Back in February, I told you that our next-door neighbors adopted Mocha. From the rescue (with Jack as a goodwill ambassador.) Take a look at this chow-mix today. She's looking more like a shepherd! Posted by Kimberly Greene. This is Chloe. She sleeps on your lap. She fits in your purse. She doesn't pull you on leash. She gets lots of oohs and ahhs at adoption day. She is a small dog. Growing up with golden retrievers. Posted by Kimberly Greene.

Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog: March 2012
http://dogfoster.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Open Hearts: Dog Fostering Blog. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. An unwanted dog dumped in a city shelter. He's a nobody. He's got no name—only a number, 107425. He barks and whines for attention. He jumps on his cage hoping someone will want to play. But nobody wants him. He's a nobody. Jonathan and I picked up 107425 and assessed his immediate needs—a bath, some food, a few handsome Petfinder photos, and a name. Oreo, we decided. Definitely Oreo. Be good, my sweet cookie," I whispered to him. Letting Go and ...
