Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Redfish in the Banana River 12/29/10. Had a charter on the calm waters of Cocoa Beach today with Rich Morel and his son Henry. Rich is a native from Cocoa Beach who has also been on a episode of Addictive Fishing. We headed out ramp road at about 11:30am in search of schooling Redfish layed up on the warm shallow grass flats. We were fishing with some new rods from TFO. Reels and 10lb test Power Pro. The lure of choice was the Berkley Gulp. 4inch new penny shrimp with a Owner.

The Redfish have been between 22-45 inches, pretty much any bait has been working, the early morning top water Redfish bite has been insane. The Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River Lagoon, and the Banana River Lagoon are all holding plenty of Redfish and trout. Snook season just opened up which means its time to eat like a king! The cobia run is starting to slow down now off Port Canaveral but the kingfish bite has been on fire! For you kingfish fans the time is now!
