prayservego: House Church - Week Five - Flexibility
http://prayservego.blogspot.com/2011/02/house-church-week-five-flexibility.html
Wednesday, February 9, 2011. House Church - Week Five - Flexibility. House church, because of its size, has a natural flexibility built into it regarding meeting times. This past week was a great example of that. We met on a Thursday night for the first time. When we originally set this past week’s meeting time we knew that two of us were going to miss it because of retreats we were on. As a group though we were still going have the rest meet on Saturday. But the decision was made that we would change.

Missional Theophanies: February 2011
http://theophanies.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 9, 2011. I honestly do not feel the choices we've made up to this point are all that risky. Yes, we've volunteered in the Katrina-ravaged Gulf Coast, lived in the inner city, and taken people into our hearts and home who had no place else to go. Yet, it all seems quite reaonsable behavior to me. Unusual, perhaps . but why? Think about this. When God asks you to do something, where is the risk? That it might not work out? Is that even a possibility if God is behind the request? Romans ...

Missional Theophanies: January is nearly over and I've checked off ...
http://theophanies.blogspot.com/2011/01/january-is-nearly-over-and-ive-checked.html
Tuesday, January 25, 2011. January is nearly over and I've checked off . One item that I can honestly claim responsibility - visiting the Pacific Garden Mission. Our garage getting cleaned was one of the items on The List but someone else did this (thanks Bill! Without being asked, so, while I will remove this from The List as done . I didn't do it. There, I've been honest. And while I'm being honest, I am rethinking The List on several fronts. Behold . The List:. Be More Like Jesus. Visit Sean and Ena.

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Student's being a blessing. The past few weeks we have been challenging our students to be a blessing to the people in their lives. This started when Reggie McNeal spoke at Ward a few weeks ago about being a people of blessing. Below are a few of the stories I have received. I have changed names and some other possible identifying features of the stories, but nothing that impacts the story itself. Enjoy and be inspired…. Truth be told, not every story worked out so well. He told...

Missional Theophanies: Say What?
http://theophanies.blogspot.com/2011/02/say-what.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. When eyes glaze over, you've got a problem. It doesn't matter how passionate you are about what you are sharing if someone does not understand you. Mwah, mwah, mwah. This can be particularly frustrating with people who. I have trouble hearing them and still do not make accommodations for my disability. One person actually told me I needed to work harder at hearing. Really? Mwah, mwah, Jesus, mwah. Do they hear,. Mwah, mwah, mwah? Last year, when some brand-new born-again in our ...

prayservego: House Church books
http://prayservego.blogspot.com/2011/02/house-church.html
Friday, February 11, 2011. A couple people have asked me what books have really guided me on the journey that Lara and I have been on for the past year. It is impossible to name them all because I have read more this year than any year in the past. God has used many different authors to reveal truth to Lara and I. Countless times I have read something and thought to myself that I wished I had written it or I read something and what it said resonated in my heart. By Neil Cole; This is a new classic. This ...
