Finding Birds in Forests

Finding Birds in Forests. Different speeds, different distances. Felt so strange, loading our back packs into a trunk. Seat belts on (even in the back seat). A stereo? Back on the road. We're not good, serious road-trippers yet. We stop after about 15 minutes to eat. Luckily, we did. Quesadillas that made one forget about the proximity to diesel fumes, oh my that flor de calabaza, can't get enough! Tlayudas in the belly, deep sleep. A veces olvido que el mundo sea tan grande. Finding Birds in Forests. Constant traffic, where are the tortillas? Yep, I'm a gal that belongs in small towns. My first night venturing out of the house here in the Distrito Federal, I tripped on a dark sidewalk and fell down so hard that I ripped one of my only two pairs of pants, and both my knee caps, open. Ow. . Peregrinacion, preguntas, perdidos. We got information on the Monarch Butterfly Refuge, determined to head there early the next day. If the butterflies don't need one, do I? We gave many th...

Finding Birds in Forests. Adventures of a Wandering Princess: February 2008

http://adventuresofawanderingprincess.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Adventures of a Wandering Princess. Wednesday, February 27, 2008. It's lovely here, a little too lovely. The Monkey Hut, Laguna de Apoyo, a backpacker resort located in a crater between Granada and Masaya. Everyone speaks english and everyone is white. Are we even in Nicaragua? Tubes, Kayaks, a Canoe (without oars), on a lake with a dock to dive off of. Very pretty, very silly, $10/night. Wierd. So very beautiful. It almost feel wrong.but it's not. Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Easy Breezy in Nicaragua.

Adventures of a Wandering Princess: March 2009

http://adventuresofawanderingprincess.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Adventures of a Wandering Princess. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. I'm 26, eek! My birthday was kick ass this year, completely unexpected, completely fantastic. It started with eggs, corn tortillas and avocado. So very delicious. Close to follow was a Pap smear, not really my idea of a bday. Treat but I like to live on the edge. Work was swell - I walked in to a hot cup of starbucks. Fresh for some superb fish tacos. I kept trying to work but it seemed set up for impossibility, and everyone was in on it!

Adventures of a Wandering Princess: November 2007

http://adventuresofawanderingprincess.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Adventures of a Wandering Princess. Thursday, November 29, 2007. Day 80: The Ruins of Tikal. Amazing. The largest of the ancient ruined cities of the Mayan civilization. To simply try and imagine a people building something so amazing, living in a time so different is absolutely astounding. Walking through the jungle from one structure to another gave me a sense of peace, a sense of curiosity. Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Day 78: Clouds across borders. Friday, November 23, 2007. Adventures of a Wandering Princess: October 2008

http://adventuresofawanderingprincess.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Adventures of a Wandering Princess. Thursday, October 30, 2008. The highlight was McCall. A three hour drive so beautiful it feels like twenty minutes. We stayed at a gorgeous lodge that looked like it should cost three times as much. We drove through the national forest. But mostly, we sat and looked at the lake, drinking tequila, and feeling like the princesses we really are. (and I beat her in pool numerous times). I miss her already. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://adventuresofawanderingprincess.blogspot.com/2010/03/typical-day-for-me-at-tashirat.html

Adventures of a Wandering Princess. Wednesday, March 24, 2010. A typical day for me at Tashirat. At 6:30 I arise and stroll up to a bungalow to do yoga with the sunrise. Following yoga I enjoy a delicious breakfast. These days it tends to be some kind of green soup or salad. Delicious! Around 9am I stroll into the school Kitchen to help Louis prepare lunch. With the help of some of the boys we carry it down to the school. Depending on the meal I either help serve lunch. Or organizing the supplies.

Adventures of a Wandering Princess: September 2007

http://adventuresofawanderingprincess.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Adventures of a Wandering Princess. Wednesday, September 26, 2007. I can't make my lips vibrate like a horse. I've been trying all trip. I might give up soon. Andrea says if I don't believe I can, then I never will. But I really can't. hmmmph. I got a tattoo today, and the pain was nowhere near the pain I felt last night when my stomach was churning inside itself. By far the worst stomach pain I have ever felt, and I know stomach pain. The cause? Monday, September 24, 2007. Day 14: Sunday in the center.

Finding Bill

A blog on cycling, diving and life. Possibly. Monday, 24 March 2014. Hua Hin to Prachuap Khiri Khan. Back on highway 4 to start the day but I soon got to turn off onto a side road, the 1019 towards Pranburi Forest Park which meant the rest of the morning was spent going through scenic and relatively untouristed areas. Well, compared to Hua Hin anyway. A lot of pineapples being grown here, with limestone karsts looming in the background. Just leaving the national park area. On the edge of town. The last 2...

Finding Blanche – Rambling on since 2005

Rambling on since 2005. February 8, 2018. February 8, 2018. I swim. And I used to color my hair. Turns out chlorine wreaks havoc on chemically treated hair. Who knew? I let it grow out and as it turns out, I wasn’t as gray as I thought I’d be. But it does depend on the light. LOL. And, as I let the layers from the disappointing chopped haircuts grow out, my hair is definitely seeming more gray. But still, it did not seem like a thing to me. But actually she meant that she was impressed (? So there it is.
