Finding Him to Find Me

Monday, April 9, 2012. One Day at a Time. I'm struggling. I admit it. The last couple of months have been trying. Very trying. Very emotional. Very exhausting. How am I going to be the mother that my children need full time, when they’re only with me half the time? How am I supposed to be the mother, provider, and spiritual leader that these two little girls need? I take a sip of wine and say to myself, “This too shall pass… in the meantime, you can do this, you are. Thursday, January 5, 2012. I have alr...

Finding Him to Find Me: The Wisdom of a Child

http://www.findinghimtofindme.blogspot.com/2008/11/wisdom-of-child.html

Sunday, November 16, 2008. The Wisdom of a Child. It seems as though my little 4 year old is wise beyond her years. and quite possibly more often than not, wiser even than her own mother. Tonight as I snuggled beside her in bed to say prayers her wisdom surprised me yet again. As I prayed, Addyline quietly and innocently interrupted, "and that she will live alot longer right? She continued, "When Grandma dies, she will still be with you. She will be in your heart and she will go wherever you go becau...

Finding Him to Find Me: Praise God!!

http://www.findinghimtofindme.blogspot.com/2008/11/praise-god.html

Friday, November 21, 2008. I just got off the phone with Grandma. She is doing soooo much better! As soon as there is another bed available at the hospital, she will be out of ICU! I actually had to hang up early because she was in the middle of playing Farkle (sp? With my mom and dad. which means she has a lot more energy than when I last spoke to her (I could totally tell this in her voice)! She's sitting up, eating, laughing. even being ornery! Finding Him to Find Me: History Has Been Made!!

http://www.findinghimtofindme.blogspot.com/2008/11/history-has-been-made.html

Wednesday, November 5, 2008. History Has Been Made! Did you stay up and watch history being made? Josh and I did. We were "glued to tube" (and to the computer while Addy watched Garfield)! And to see and hear both Obama and McCain speak their respective speeches out of love for their country and respect for each other and America's decision. wow. what a fight they've had over the last few months. Now they can finally get some sleep. and so can many of us! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Finding Him to Find Me: Chapter 1: Come Out of Hiding

http://www.findinghimtofindme.blogspot.com/2008/10/come-out-of-hiding.html

Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Chapter 1: Come Out of Hiding. We unwittingly project onto God our own attitudes and feelings toward ourselves. But we cannot assume that He feels about us the way we feel about ourselves- unless we love ourselves compassionately, intensely, and freely. It takes a profound conversion to accept that God is relentlessly tender and compassionate toward us just as we are- not in spite of our sins and faults, but with them."- - pgs 19-20. Do you ever find yourself doing this? It will...

The Curtis Family: July 2015

http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, July 27, 2015. We wanted to get to know our new home state a little more so we went to Edisto Beach on Edisto Island this year for vacation. It felt like we were setting up camp in the jungle with all the vines and Spanish moss hanging from trees and the humidity and heat and bugs! It was near 100 degrees most of the days we were there. Day at the beach. Picnic at the beach. We visited the Serpentarium. Someone turn me over! A famous, fake tree trunk. Once we got t...

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, September 22, 2014. August 2014 Part 3- VW show and Chicago trip. The weekend after we returned from Maine, we took the ferry to Governor's Island to go to the VW show. Our friends, Dan and Stephanie, got married on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. They asked Paul to perform the wedding so we all drove to Chicago. One the way we stopped in Pittsburgh for the night and went to a preseason Steeler's game. The next day we drove to Chicago. Just like NYC traffic.

The Curtis Family: June 2016-Part 2

http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2016/06/june-2016-part-2.html

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, June 27, 2016. Jae started working mid-June for a guy at church who owns a delivery company. This is what Jae looked like when he came home from his first day of work: dirty, hot and tired. It's good for him! We're hoping he will get in at least 3 full days a week this summer. We got the kayak turned right side up and one of the guys towed it to the boat dock (which seemed really far away paddling against the wind! Getting ready to go. Finding Him to Find Me.

The Curtis Family: October 2015

http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Sunday, October 11, 2015. Our weekend in Knoxville was really nice. Jae got to check out Johnson University and visit with his friend, Brandon (who baptized him). And we got to visit with John and Tammie Weatherly. And EAT! Tammie made so much delicious food. We were very spoiled. On Saturday we checked out downtown Knoxville. Hiking at Ijams Nature Center, along the TN River. Thursday, October 8, 2015. I thought I'd do a "Before and After" post. The previous owner had a g...

The Curtis Family: February 2016

http://carisasblog.blogspot.com/2016/06/february-2016.html

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Monday, June 27, 2016. Daniel and I went to Winter Jam in downtown Greenville. It was a "wait in line and you get in when you get in and get a seat wherever you can" concert. That was pretty crazy. We waited in line for a few hours and ended up being in the top seats. We didn't know we were going to a political rally. Ted Cruz. And then Ben Carson had to have his say. For King and Country. It was fun, but next time I think I want to buy tickets with assigned seats!

Unfortunately, Dan's grandmother died right before we got there and Dan and Stephanie had to fly out early Sat. morning for the funeral. We got to go to the very top! The weather was very chilly...

A Brooklyn Family in the South. Sunday, September 27, 2015. Celebrating with the cousins. Nana and Poppaw came to visit over Labor Day for a few days. We all went to an Apple orchard, picked some apples, had lunch and had some cider and apple goodies. I really need to take some more pictures of the house now that we're moved in. But I did get a few of the living room one day. Hopefully we'll get some pictures on the wall behind the couch soon and some throw pillows made. Jae attended camp this summer at ...

The Diary of a Crazy Woman after God's Heart: Are you thirsty?

http://crazywomanaftergodsheart.blogspot.com/2010/02/are-you-thirsty.html

The Diary of a Crazy Woman after God's Heart. The rantings and heart-felt testimonies of a simple woman who's thrilled and scared to see where God is leading her and who He's changing her into. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. In An Ordinary Coffee Shop. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Matthew 5:6 (NIV). I pulled out my journal and began to write how I felt, what was on my mind, and asked God to speak to me in the midst of this most ordinary of places. Dear ...

Finding Grace | Experiencing the grace that can only come from God…

Experiencing the grace that can only come from God…. This will most likely be my last post of 2016. I originally planned for a long-winded essay about all I want to reflect on 2016, but I realised that it is unnecessary. Not because it is unimportant, but rather because what I have experienced and journeyed through will most likely stay with me for the rest of my life. As I think about 2016, I believe there are three points that I can take away from the year. 2 Thankfulness for friendship. Sometimes, I w...
